My next Childbirth Course in Rotterdam will be taking place on the 13th of June. In collaboration with ACCESS.

You can have a look on my website if you would like to see what it's all about. In a nutshell - it's an intensive 1 day course that covers the ins and outs of birth in general, and also goes into detail into the Dutch birth system, so you can be fully prepared and know what to expect.

In-person childbirth classes in Rotterdam that blend evidence-based knowledge with heartfelt support—perfect for expats and curious first-time parents.

I'm not here to make you feel guilty.

I'm here to ask the question nobody else is asking.

Because I've been in that room. I've seen what prepared looks like. And I've seen what unprepared feels like.

You get to choose which woman shows up.

📅 Hardly any babies actually arrive on their due date. In fact, only around 5% do. And for first time mothers, around 70% give birth after that date. So really, it's less of a due date and more of a guess date.

And if you're pregnant and living far from home, that day of waiting can carry a particular kind of weight. The people you'd normally lean on are a timezone away, and the silence can feel loud.

So here's a gentle invitation: when that day arrives, make it yours.
☕ Linger over coffee somewhere you love.
📚 Lose yourself in a bookshop.
🎬 Sit in a dark cinema and eat too much popcorn.
🫶 Spend time with people who make you laugh.
😴 Declare it a full, unapologetic me-day.

Every single one of these things nudges your oxytocin in the right direction, which also happens to be your body's favourite hormone for birth. So you're not just enjoying yourself. You're preparing.
Your baby will come when your baby is ready. 💛

Part of pregnancy preparation, is relearning about you as a woman. - Heather Baker

Our bodies were made to give birth. It's in our DNA. But in order for you to fully understand and take advantage of this, you need to understand what it means to be a woman. Heather says that we should be relearning, but I think for a lot of us it is learning for the first time.

We unfortunately live in a world where quick fix diets and hacks to look good in a bikini gets more media attention than the incredible work your body does to manage hormone levels throughout your cycle, prepare the uterine lining each month with quiet precision, or signal through symptoms that something needs your attention.

We were never taught to listen to our bodies. We were taught to override them.

So when the time comes to grow a life, many of us are meeting our bodies for the very first time — and that can feel overwhelming.

But here's the beautiful truth: it's not too late to start. Learning your cycle, understanding your hormones, tuning into what your body is telling you — this isn't just pregnancy prep. This is coming home to yourself.

The more you understand the woman you are, the more confidently you can step into the mother you're becoming. 🤍

Hope to see you at one of these

⚡If you want to have a natural birth, stay home (as long as possible).

⚡Less medical checks mean less chance of an intervention.

⚡More often than not, the mind gives up before the body does.

⚡If you give birth in hospital/birth centre, the chances are high you'll give birth on the bed (on your back). Not because you have to, but because you automatically get drawn to it as "the most comfortable place in this room".

⚡Water (bath or shower) during labour and birth is a game changer.

Save this for later
