We are the international resource for sports physical therapists, serving people and athletes. IFSPT is a world-wide Federation, recognised as a subgroup of World Physiotherapy (WP). IFSPT is directed towards Member Organizations and their individual members in serving athletes of all ages and abilities through excellence in education, research, practice, and clinical specialisation. The intention of the IFSPT is to be the international resource for Sports Physical Therapists all over the world.

🌍 A very important step forward for the international sports physiotherapy community.

This new Delphi study updates the ISEPA Sports Physiotherapy Competencies and Standards, expanding from 11 countries involved in 2005 to 38 countries in 2025, with consensus reached on 296 out of 300 standards.

Beyond the numbers, this work reflects the continued evolution of sports physiotherapy toward:

✅ evidence-informed practice
✅ athlete-centered care
✅ international collaboration
✅ competency-based education
✅ high-quality rehabilitation and performance support

It is also exciting to see projects such as this continue within the ISEPA community, helping shape the future of sports physiotherapy education, recognition, and professional standards worldwide.
