AMA's 2026 theme is here: Beyond the Cycle🐬

This year, AMA explores themes surrounding reproductive health, fertility, and hormonal wellness within the Dutch-Caribbean context, for both men and women♂️♀️

Hormonal and reproductive health is more than a single conversation; it is deeply connected 🔄 to metabolism, overall wellbeing, resilience, identity, and quality of life. With the help of our friendly mascot 'Buladó'🐬, AMA will dive deep into these topics.

Through podcasts, accredited trainings, and our flagship Caribbean Healthcare Symposium, AMA aims to raise awareness⚠️, foster meaningful dialogue💬, and highlight healthcare careers🩺, research🔬, and policy✒️ developments related to hormonal and reproductive health within the Dutch-Caribbean community. Moving the conversation beyond stigma, and thus Beyond the Cycle✨️

AMA Mediko (AMA) is a network association of healthcare students and professionals with a Caribbean-Dutch background and/or affinity with the islands within the Kingdom🌎🌴 - Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten. We connect (future) physicians, nurses, pharmacists, policymakers and other healthcare professionals, and promote knowledge exchange 🧠 and collaboration 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾 between the Netherlands and the Caribbean through lectures, webinars, and symposia.

🌴🔬 Dutch-Caribbean Research Week 2026 🔬🌴

Research, innovation, and Dutch-Caribbean collaboration come together during DCRW2026, taking place across all 6 islands from 17 to 24 June.

This event organised by the Dutch Research Council (NWO) gives students, researchers, academics, and professionals an inspiring week filled with:

🤝 Networking opportunities

Each conference day highlights a different island and features leading voices in Dutch-Caribbean research and development.
