Ivo werd geboren met 37 weken. Zijn zuig-, slik- en ademreflexen waren nog niet ontwikkeld, waardoor eten niet lukte. Daarna kreeg hij het RS-virus en lag hij twee weken in coma.

Vandaag delen we het verhaal van Ivo en zijn moeder Karlijn: haar ervaring met de WMO, de weg die ze samen aflegden én hoe ze uiteindelijk met de CloudCuddle naar Gran Canaria konden reizen.

Verhalen als deze raken ons elke keer weer. En ze herinneren ons eraan waarom we doen wat we doen: gezinnen zoals dat van Ivo weer vrijheid geven.

Ivo was born at 37 weeks. His sucking, swallowing, and breathing reflexes hadn't yet developed, which meant he was unable to eat. He then contracted the RS virus and spent two weeks in a coma.

Today we're sharing the story of Ivo and his mother Karlijn: her experience with the WMO, the journey they went through together, and how they were eventually able to travel to Gran Canaria with the CloudCuddle.

Dankzij de CloudCuddle kan Cas overal veilig slapen: op vakantie én bij opa en oma.

Moeder Patricia vocht voor een Wmo-vergoeding en schreef de gemeente waarom de bedtent geen bed is, maar een hulpmiddel: "Zo konden we met z'n vieren op vakantie en kon Cas bij opa en oma logeren."

Drie jaar later gaat het gezin nog steeds naar gewone vakantieadressen. Geen zorgen meer over de slaapplek, wel ruimte om samen op te laden.

Haar tip voor andere ouders? Bereid je goed voor, sta sterk in je schoenen en vertel waarom je de wereld van je kind wilt uitbreiden.

Thanks to the CloudCuddle, Cas can sleep safely anywhere: on holiday and at grandma and grandpa's.

His mother Patricia fought for reimbursement and explained to the authorities why the bed tent isn't a bed, but an aid: "It meant we could go on holiday as a family of four, and Cas could stay over at his grandparents'."

Three years later, the family still books regular holiday homes. No more worries about where Cas will sleep, and room for the whole family to recharge.

"Het heet nu zijn bedtent. En dan zegt hij: tent slapen."

Toen het gezin van Ivo voor het eerst met de CloudCuddle op pad ging, meteen twee weken naar Gran Canaria, was de spanning vooraf groot. Zou hij erin willen slapen? Zou het veilig genoeg zijn, zo ver van huis?

Het antwoord kwam sneller dan gedacht. De tent stond in een paar minuten, Ivo ging erin liggen en vond het gewoon prima. Hij testte 'm nog even uit, een ritsje hier, een krabbeltje daar, maar kwam er al gauw achter dat dat niet ging lukken. En juist dát gaf hem de rust om weer door te slapen.

Voor zijn ouders betekende dat iets veel groters dan één goede nacht: "Gewoon de vrijheid om ergens heen te gaan." Met z'n allen op vakantie. Een weekendje weg. Bij oma logeren. E
