Since then I lived and worked in London, as a dancer, dance teacher, Pilates and GYROTONIC® method teacher, and Pilates studio manager. In 2018 I moved back to Oslo to have my daughter Frida and have run my own practice in Oslo since 2019. My comprehensive Pilates teacher training was in the Stott Pilates method, in Toronto in 1999 and with Pilates Off The Square in London in 2000-2002. I am a mem
ber of the Pilates Foundation UK. Alongside Pilates I also teach the GYROTONIC® method and the Skinner Releasing Technique, qualifying in 2005. For a full bio please see my website: audaasbo.com and for appointments please contact me on: [email protected]
The Pilates method in a nutshell:
The Pilates technique was first developed by Joseph Pilates (1883-1967). It is a movement and exercise system which aims to create a well balanced, strong and supple body. The technique improves posture and general wellbeing. It enhances our performance of day to day movements, and is widely used for sports specific training and for rehabilitation after injury and operations. Due to its adaptability it is suitable for all age groups and abilities, from professional dancers to the elderly. The GYROTONIC® method in a nutshell:
The GYROTONIC® method has been developed over the last 30 (+) years by Julio Horvath, an ethnic Hungarian, professional dancer from Romania now based in USA. It combines elements of dance, yoga and Chinese medicine, but is ultimately its own profound movement and exercise system, which stimulates the body from inside out. Due to the adaptability of the equipment and the movement, the GYROTONIC® method is suitable for all age groups and abilities. It can be used to improve general well being, to challenge and improve general fitness, for rehabilitation as well as for sports specific training.
