We all are aware of regular and repeating earthquakes in Nepal destroying huge amount of human, properties and livestock. Nepal is fully Agro based nation and 80% people are directly depended on agriculture, more specifically in animals. Due to the disaster stroke and lack of disasters plans, Nepalese and Nepalese government is threatened heavily by this losses. The count of human losses are incre

asing day-by-day and till now it reached to above 6,000. Property losses is still out of estimation and the damages are seen severe in remote areas where temporary building were made haphazardly. Besides these losses, Nepal lost its many cultural heritages, government offices, apartments, shopping complexes, etc. The support from worldwide is eroded in this situation but are just concentrated to human and property losses. In contradictions to this, as an animal welfare organization and animal advocacy, we are focused on the sufferings and damages in livestock. The earthquakes started hitting the major parts of Nepal from 24th April and is continuously hitting till today (30th Aprill). First quake was of 7.9 magnitudes and till date 120 quakes with magnitudes above 5 has been occurred. The Affected regions of this disaster are

Urgent Adoption Appeal: Sweet, Friendly Mother Dog & Her 4 Pups Need a Forever Home! ЁЯР╛

Meet an absolute sweetheart who has stolen our hearts here at NAWRC! Despite being one of the friendliest dogs you could ever meet, she found herself in a difficult situation after being reported for biting over 10 people (likely a misunderstanding or fear-based reaction while protecting her territory or family). She has been in our care for over 5 days now, and her true, loving personality is shining through.

However, we face a major challenge: our facility is not equipped to accommodate a mother and her 4 little pups around children. Because she has her babies with her, managing her care safely in our current environment is extremely difficult.

Personality: Super friendly, loving, and gentle with adults.

Family: Comes with 4 adorable puppies!

Status: Safe with us for 5+ days, but urgently seeking placement.

Needs: A secure, child-free home (or a foster/adopter experienced with nursing mothers) who can give this little family the love and patience they deserve.
Optional: Only a pup can be adapted.

If you are looking to adopt or can provide a safe haven for this wonderful mom and her four babies, please remember her story and reach out to us immediately! Let's help them find the safe, understanding home they desperately need. ЁЯПбтЭдя╕П

ЁЯЪи Important Notice: Official Protocol Issued for the Safe Management of Animal Carcasses Affected by Recent Flash Floods

Following the floods in the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, animal carcasses washed ashore pose serious risks of infectious disease outbreaks, negative impacts on human health, and environmental hazards if left unmanaged or buried unsafely.
To address this, the Department of Livestock Services has prepared and released an official protocol for the safe collection and proper management of deceased animals. The guidelines outline critical steps including:
Required personal safety equipment (PPE) and field tools.
Proper criteria for selecting safe burial sites away from water sources and settlements.
Specific burial techniques, such as digging pits at least 3 feet deep and using salt, lime, and EM (effective microorganisms).
Strict post-management disinfection, hygiene, and record-keeping protocols.
Let's prioritize community health, safety, and proper environmental care by following these official measures. ЁЯР╛ЁЯдЭ

From Ground Zero: The Devastation in Bhotekoshi and Trishuli

Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center (NAWRC) has been on the ground in the flood-affected areas of Bhotekoshi and Trishuli, where the scale of devastation is beyond words.

The floods have caused enormous destruction to homes, physical infrastructure, livelihoods, human lives, and animals. Around 20 bridges and more than 10 hydropower stations have reportedly been damaged, while communities along the river basin remain buried under massive amounts of debris.

The scenes are heartbreaking. In some affected areas, human and animal remains are still being recovered from the riverbanks and debris-filled communities. Many dogs are still waiting near the rubble, seemingly searching for the families they once knew and loved. Countless domesticated animals have either been swept away by the floodwaters or remain trapped beneath rubble and debris.

Animals are often the silent victims of disasters. Their suffering may go unseen, but their need for rescue, treatment, food, and care is just as urgent.

Despite the extremely challenging conditions, NAWRC, together with other concerned organizations including Sneha's Care, KAT Centre, has been able to provide emergency treatment and relief support to affected animals, their owners, and communities through the concerned authorities.

We are continuing to assess the situation. Access to several affected areas remains difficult as roads are still blocked by debris. The situation is further complicated by concerns about accumulated water upstream, which could potentially trigger further flash flooding.

The recovery will take time. The needs are immense, and the work is far from over.

ЁЯЩП Please continue supporting rescue and relief efforts. Together, we can stand with affected communities and ensure that animals are not forgotten in times of disaster.

URGENT: Flash Flood Response in Nepal
Following the massive, unexpected flash floods across the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river corridorsтАФtriggered by upstream eventsтАФwidespread devastation has severely impacted people, infrastructure, and animals.
At the forefront of this crisis, the Nepal Animal Welfare and Research Center (NAWRC), alongside member organizations like Sneha Care, VOAN, from the Federation of Animal Welfare Nepal, is moving to actively respond on the ground in deep coordination with the Rapid Response Team (RRT) of the Nepal Government to rescue and protect vulnerable animals and affected communities.
Any support for both animals and humans is accepted with immense gratitude. Please reach out or contribute to our relief efforts during this critical time of need.
