A breastfeeding strike or nursing strike can feel personal. You've been working nonstop to meet your baby's needs and then they start crying every time you put them to the breast!

Take a breath and remember, they need your help understanding the world and this is a time to give them more love and protection, not get defensive.

I know that can be easier said than done, but you can work past this.

Instead of instantly turning to a bottle, because babies like all humans will take the path of least resistance, use spoon or cup if they won't breastfeed. Breastfeed when they're sleepy. Make sure you are in a calm state and in a calm environment (dim lights, just you two, no phone, TV, or background distractions). Make sure you are not giving too much complementary foods that they are too full to want to have milk.
