Massage isn't "just a massage."
Behind every treatment is ongoing learning, clinical reasoning, and a commitment to providing the best care possible.
This September, I'll be attending the Massage Aotearoa New Zealand (MANZ) Conference in Christchurch alongside massage therapists from across the motu. The focus this year is "Pain Management for Self and Others". We will be exploring the latest evidence and practical skills in areas such as persistent pain, the lymphatic system, breathing patterns, fibromyalgia, perimenopause, therapist wellbeing, and how to promote our beautiful profession by writing case studies and research projects.
Continuing education helps me to bring that knowledge back into the clinic to better support you.
Looking after others starts with looking after ourselves too. A healthy, knowledgeable therapist is better equipped to help you move with more freedom, recover well, and stay active for the long term.
If you're a massage therapist or another hands-on health professional who's interested in joining us, I'd love to hear from you. Conferences are a fantastic way to build your clinical skills, connect with like-minded practitioners, and be inspired by the wider allied health community. Feel free to send me a message—I'd be happy to tell you more.
I'm looking forward to a weekend of learning and connecting with colleagues.
