From more than 500 applications, our little not-for-profit birthing centre in rural Helensville was chosen to be part of this incredible initiative through Z Kumeū!

To have the mahi of our team and the support we provide to whānau across our community recognised in this way is something we are SO incredibly proud and honoured by.

But now… WE NEED YOU! 🙌🧡

From 18 August, when you’re at Z Kumeū, grab your token and pop it in the Helensville Birthing Centre box! Every token counts and helps us make the absolute most of this amazing opportunity.

💙 A little behind the scenes at The Body clinic….
This gorgeous little patient is actually osteo Lana's 11-month-old being treated by Olivia.🥰
As an osteopath, we often get asked what treatment looks like for babies.
The answer is... just like this. Gentle, calm, and always led by the baby. Sometimes we're playing, sometimes we're cuddling, and sometimes we're exploring the room while treatment happens.
Babies don't need to lie perfectly still! We work with them where they're most comfortable, using very gentle techniques tailored to their individual needs.

Parents bring their babies to see us for a variety of reasons, including feeding and latching difficulties, digestive discomfort, unsettledness, head preference or flat spots, tension after birth, bumps and bruises, or simply to support comfortable movement and development.

We feel so grateful that we get to care for little ones every day—including our own. 💙

Lana recently completed 12 hours of CPD in a course about the treatment of Breastfeeding Conditions, adding even more knowledge to help support mums and babies during their breastfeeding journey. 🤱💙

One of the most common reasons we see babies in the clinic is for latching and feeding difficulties. While every baby is different and feeding challenges can have many causes, osteopathic treatment may help by improving comfort, reducing tension, and supporting the baby’s ability to move more freely during feeding.

Some babies may present with:
• Difficulty achieving or maintaining a latch
• A preference for one breast
• Head or neck tightness
• Fussiness during feeds
• Difficulty turning their head equally to both sides

Our goal is to support both mum and baby with gentle, individualised care.
