Forgiveness - this sums up what I learnt some years ago. It changed my fundamental relationship with forgiveness and offered a deeper level of healing and freedom.

On this day 26 years ago my sister died quite suddenly. Grief changes over the years and that I know for sure. I especially love this video that reminds me of how grateful I am for the life I have been given. Life is messy and its not always easy to remember the wonder of life. Grateful living is a practice and watching this is a part of my practice.

Hemingways quote is poignant and I see it too often in my work and know it to be true in my life.

Say their name, speak of them, remember them

Why Repair Matters More Than Perfection Every family makes mistakes.
That part is human.

What determines whether a family stays emotionally safe or slowly fractures isn’t perfection—it’s repair.

Repair means naming harm instead of minimizing it.
Taking accountability instead of defensiveness.
Apologizing without excuses. Not ignoring the harm.
And making things right, even when it’s uncomfortable.

When repair doesn’t happen, the wound doesn’t disappear.
It becomes the pattern—eroding trust, emotional safety, and connection over time.

Healthy families aren’t flawless.
They’re willing to repair.
