Have you ever made yourself smaller before anyone even asked you to?
You didn’t share that idea because you thought people might laugh.
You didn’t wear that outfit because you worried about being judged.
You didn’t speak up because you didn’t want to seem difficult.
You didn’t go after that opportunity because you convinced yourself you weren’t ready.
And maybe, without even realising it, you’ve been saying NO to yourself to avoid hearing it from someone else.
That’s self-rejection.
You’re trying to protect yourself from a rejection that hasn’t even happened.
But in doing so, you might be rejecting opportunities, experiences, relationships and versions of yourself that you haven’t even had the chance to meet.
Not everyone will understand you. Not everyone will like you. And that’s okay.
But please don’t let the fear of someone else’s opinion become the reason you abandon yourself.
You don’t need everyone’s approval to give yourself permission to try.
Your reminder today: Let people meet the real you. Let life surprise you. Stop rejecting yourself on someone else’s behalf.
💛 Have you ever held yourself back because you were afraid of what people might think?
