Most Lash Artists are told to believe that handmade fans offer better longevity because they 'wrap' around the natural lash.

I honestly think lash wrapping = better longevity is a thing in the past. Pre/promades can offer the same if not even better longevity.

This is what 8 week retention could look like 😮

I did this Mega Volume set on August 4th for the Lash Competition, and her lashes look like a Natural Volume now almost 8 weeks later.

I don't offer Mega Volume personally as this 4 hour set would have cost $600. But I would imagine her lashes will last another month, so even at $600/12 weeks is $50/week.

Only the tiniest amount of glue was used to ensure the base looks super clean for the lash competition photos with zero reflection. I was surprised how well they have lasted, to be honest.

The adhesive used is important, but I don't really think that's the main reason for good retention. I mix different glues most of the time for my sets. The fans themselves make a huge difference, I have spoken about this in my presentation at the Aotearoa Lash Conference.

Yes, bad lash retention = bad client retention and can definitely kill your business. But I don't think you should aim for extreme retention like hers either. Every client is different and I would say to be acceptable, you should aim for 50% lashes remain after 3 weeks as a minimum, and probably 4 weeks+ if you're more experienced, and yes it can also depend on the lash cycle.

If every client has retention like hers, it can also kill your business 😅 unless you're charging $600+ for this and for someone to return every 3 months. But again, who will pay $600 for a set of lashes?

The weight of our Featherlight Cashmere in 0.10mm = 0.05mm round base extension.

This set was mainly 3D, with some 1D and 2D in LD curl 9mm to 12mm. These lashes are incredibly lightweight. You have to try them to truly appreciate how black, soft, and featherlight they are 😍
