WANT TO FIGHT? HERE’S WHAT’S EXPECTED.

Allow roughly a year of consistent Muay Thai training, 4–5 days a week, before considering a fight.

Before we book you:
You should already be running regularly and have started gym/strength work.

From 3 months out:
• Muay Thai: 4–5 days a week
• Gym/strength: 3–5 days a week
• Running: 5 days a week, totalling 20–30km, at under 6 minutes per km
• Sprints: 1 session a week

Your nutrition and training need a plan. Organising that is your responsibility. I offer this service, or you can work with someone else.

Making weight is part of the commitment. Failed weigh-ins are unacceptable. If you miss weight, you won’t be rebooked.

If fighting is your goal, start building those habits now.

MUAY THAI — WHEN CAN I MOVE UP?

Everyone progresses at a different pace. These are rough timeframes based on training 3–5 days a week. Time alone doesn’t mean you’re ready — your skills and control need to be there too.

Adult Muay Thai
Open to all levels, including complete beginners.

Beginner sparring • Around 2 months in
Once your basics and control are sorted. These sessions focus on drills to help you build confidence and practise safely.

Regular sparring • After 1–2 months of beginner sparring
Once your control and accuracy are good. Open sparring rather than set drills. (permission needed)

Advanced class • Around 1 year of regular training, including 6 months of regular sparring
Your basics need to be solid, your fitness good and your padwork excellent. (permission and assessment needed)

Thai sparring • After 3+ months in advanced class
You’ll need excellent control with elbows and in the clinch.

Fighting • Around 1 year of training
This assumes daily training and that you’re ready for the demands of fight preparation.

These are a guide, not a deadline. Get the foundations right and build from there.

Final week of the comp.

Every class you both book and scan into earns an entry—so if you’re training, make sure you do both.

The goal is to get people booking so we can plan for class numbers and avoid increasing fees—so it’s a win/win.

Winner drawn this Friday, 2 October.

PROPOSED TIMETABLE — WHO’S KEEN?

We’re considering these timetable changes and want to know which sessions you’d actually attend.

MUAY STRENGTH
Tuesday and Thursday, 7–8am. Minimum four bookings, with an additional charge.

INTRO SPARRING
At least one month’s Muay Thai training, plus coach permission. You’ll need 16 oz gloves, shin guards and a mouthguard.

THAI SPARRING
Coach permission, advanced class experience and immaculate control required.

If you’ve recently been warned about your control or escalated the power during sparring, you aren’t ready for this session yet. You’ll need to demonstrate consistent control first.

Standard sparring equipment is required, plus headgear and elbow pads.

SATURDAY PRO-STYLE SESSIONS
These will run similarly to a session in Thailand, following a set plan that changes weekly. For example: a run, shadowboxing and stretching, pad rounds, clinch rounds and light conditioning work.

Allow 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours. Minimum four bookings, with an additional charge.

All sparring and advanced classes must be booked, with no extra charge.

Have a look at the proposed timetable and comment below or message us with the sessions you’d attend. Let us know which days work for you so we can gauge interest before confirming the changes.

PROPOSED START DATE: OCTOBER 2

Bit of a 'hard word' : Some of you are still not scanning in (despite walking past the screen saying 'scanning is compulsory'). This is a big deal. The liability and potential fines you place on us are far higher than what your membership contributes. It's not complicated. We'll need to start removing those that don't follow this - the risk is way too high.
You've been provided two barcode/scan cards, and can also use the app to scan in, so there's no excuse!

Booking for all sparring and advanced classed is (still) compulsory - your scan wont work if you dont book, so you shoudnt be entering the gym.
