The time has come that Mama Emilia's life has come to a close.
Many of you have walked alongside us and supported multiple returns home to spend time with Mama as she grew older in her life. For this we are so grateful. Mama raised Joydah and her siblings. She nurtured, loved, cared & prayed for them every day of their lives. At 96 years of age, Mama Emilia lived a full life. There is heartache & their is peace in her transition. May she rest with ease & return to her beloved.
Mama Emilia is Joydah’s grandmother. She is also the woman who raised her and her siblings. Her heart, her roots, her greatest weave of connection to home.
In this deep time of grief, Joydah has set an intention. Return home to say her final goodbyes. And then return to Aotearoa to take over the care of her severely non-verbal autistic sister Katie, so that her mother, eldest daughter of Emilia Pucay, can return home to be by Mama’s side. To grieve, to process and to lead the family through this time.
We are calling on the support of our community to get Joydah home. Amongst all this deep work, healing and service, one code we have not yet cracked is the code of financial wealth. Though our hearts are full, connections are strong & our service feels it has fulfilled purpose, our banks accounts currently do not hold the resources to send Joydah home.
All donations will go towards Joydah’s flights & internal travel from Manila to Kabayan. Excess funds will go directly to the family as a whole to support whatever is needed at this time including impending funeral costs.
