This week we welcome a new cohort of certified graduates into our global PINC & STEEL oncology rehabilitation network.
To our newest graduates, thank you for choosing this work.
You are stepping into a field that meets people not only in strength, but often in fear, uncertainty, loss, and vulnerability.
You are now part of a community made up of some of the kindest, most committed professionals I’ve ever known.
The support you provide matters deeply.
It changes recoveries.
It helps people reconnect with themselves, their families, their confidence, and their lives beyond cancer.
And the ripple effect reaches far beyond the individual patient, into homes, workplaces, friendships, and communities.
This work is not for everyone.
It asks you to witness hardship, grief, uncertainty, and loss while still showing up with compassion, hope, and steadiness.
It can be emotionally heavy carrying the stories of people and families navigating some of the hardest moments of their lives.
And alongside the clinical work, there is also the ongoing frustration of knowing how much rehabilitation can help, while constantly fighting funding limitations and barriers that prevent too many people from accessing the support they need.
But despite all of that, or perhaps because of it, this work matters deeply.
Here’s to everyone working in oncology care and rehabilitation who continue to lift others up every day. 💙🩷
