Hearing Auckland’s audiologists in Remuera provide expert hearing advice and solutions to boost your confidence and reconnect you to family, friends and the wider world
At Hearing Auckland, we provide expert, independent hearing care you can

trust. Our fully trained audiologists, offer hearing tests and personalised hearing aid solutions to help you stay connected to the world around you. Seeing a client’s face light up when they hear sounds they’ve been missing is the most rewarding part of our work.

Unlike large retail chains, we are a registered charity focused on our clients' needs, not sales targets. We know that no single product suits everyone - that's why we offer a wide variety of brands and hearing aid models. Our compassionate team provides honest advice, ongoing support, and access to funding for those who need it.

You can see us for:
* Ear wax micro-suction appointments with registered ear nurses from the Ear Nurse Specialist Group
* Hearing tests and audiology support from qualified audiologists who are registered members of the New Zealand Audiological Society
* Tinnitus testing and support
* Hearing aids from all major brands (we are not owned by a hearing aid company or overseas corporation)
* Hearing aid repairs and support even if you purchased your hearing aids somewhere else
* Offering free, friendly, helpful and independent advice on hearing loss
* Community outreach and support especially with our local Maori and Pasifika communities
* Raising the profile of hearing issues with the general public
* Giving talks to community groups
* Hearing Therapist from Your Way | Kia Roha monthly for free appointments
* Sales and fitting of custom earplugs for sleep, swimming, musicians, TV presenters and more
* Advocating the need to protect hearing loss in the workplace and at home

August is a very special month for us, because it's the birthday of our founder Kathleen Hurd-Wood! If you've ever wondered about our beautiful building and how our clinic came to be here - it's thanks to Kathleen's generosity in donating her home to Tamaki Makaurau Hearing Trust (though we had a different name at the time). Happy 140th birthday, Kathleen!

NZAS Conference 2026! Our audiology team Mani and Peter spent 3 days in Otautahi (Christchurch) last week upskilling with their professional colleagues at the New Zealand Audiological Society conference. Peter also gave a presentation about our Pathfinder program and the work we're doing up north with Te Hiku Hauora.

Thanks to the conference team for putting it all together!

Hearing is a big part of communication. Being able to korero with our friends and loved ones is an important part of everyday community connections. Untreated hearing loss can lead to feelings of loneliness and isolation. There is also a growing body of research suggesting untreated hearing loss is linked to an increased risk of mate wareware (dementia). That's why we want to make it easier for communities to access hearing services.
