Deload week and we’re on a little trip away, so it was lovely to change the scenery for a run.

Only 7 km, but after a very busy week and 3 hours of driving, the fatigue was definitely noticeable!

Still, we managed it quite alright, and it’s so encouraging to see how much several weeks of consistent training are already paying off.

Having said that, we were absolutely wiped out the next day!

Overall, feeling fitter, stronger and more confident with every run — even on the days when the body reminds us that fuel, rest & recharge, pacing (in daily life, not just during running!) and consistency are all so important.

Slowly building. One run at a time. 🏃‍♀️✨

Next destination: Rotorua and a spa every day!

Making a good progress in our 1/2 marathon training. Each week we are increasing the challenge and mileage. It's going well so far :)

I never run more then 6km before so to be able to run 12km and be ok about it is a great achievement for me. I am proud of myself each week :)

Lymphatic Drainage, Glymphatic Flow/ Brain Health / Increased Energy & Improved Looks (less tired look| less puffiness| improved skin tone)

Here is a combination of gentle techniques I use to support lymphatic and glymphatic flow.

You can find more information in my previous post about how much and how often, but there really isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. It can be highly individualised depending on your body, needs and response.
And remember — it doesn’t always have to take a long time. Even a few minutes of gentle, intentional work can make a noticeable difference.
I know this from my own experience, too 💚

Sometimes, a few minutes is all your body needs to create a little more space and flow.

A bit of extra info:

The lymphatic system doesn’t only support fluid balance throughout the body — it also has an important relationship with brain fluid clearance.
Deep within the brain, the glymphatic system helps move cerebrospinal fluid through specialised pathways around blood vessels, supporting the clearance of metabolic waste and maintaining the brain's internal environment. This process is particularly active during sleep.

Importantly, the glymphatic system is connected with the meningeal lymphatic system, which provides drainage pathways from the brain towards the deep cervical lymph nodes.

This is why, when working around the face, neck, chest and upper body, I pay particular attention to creating space and supporting the body's natural lymphatic pathways.

The intention isn't to force fluid or “push lymph” — it's about using gentle, rhythmic techniques that work with the physiology of the lymphatic system.

✨ Clear → open → flow

And because healthy brain function depends on efficient fluid regulation, waste clearance, sleep and nervous-system balance, supporting the body's peripheral lymphatic environment may be an interesting part of a broader approach to wellbeing.

The lymphatic system and the brain are more connected than we once thought.

I wanted to share something I've been working towards... 🏃‍♀️

This November, I'll be running my first half marathon!

If you'd told me a few years ago that I'd be training for 21km run, I wouldn't have believed you. I've always admired people that can run & enjoy it, but the furthest I've ever run is 5 km and that was a massive chore for me. So this is a big personal challenge.

I'm taking on this journey alongside my partner, Richard, in memory of his mum Sue, who sadly passed away in February.
During that difficult time, the local hospice in Scarborough provided incredible care and support for both her and the whole family. We are so grateful for everything they did.
To thank them and help them continue supporting other families, we're raising funds for the hospice throughout our training.

This is a family effort, with Richard's sister Bec and her children: Ben, Ed, Hope + Liv, also taking part in the UK.

Over the next few months, I'll be sharing what I'm learning, the ups and downs of training, and what it's really like to go from someone who has never run more than 5 km to preparing for a half marathon.
I hope you'll enjoy following the journey—and if you'd like to support the fundraiser, every contribution, big or small, will make a real difference.

Thank you for being here,

❤️ with love Patrycja xx

Some on-line videos recommend starting your lymphatic drainage massage by stimulating the armpits area (or, when dry brushing, by brushing from the arms first).

While this isn't necessarily wrong, it's not the most effective place to begin.

Your lymphatic fluid ultimately drains back into your bloodstream through the lymphatic ducts near the collarbones (the subclavian veins). Think of it like a sink: if the drain is blocked, pushing more water toward it won't be as effective.

That's why it is always recommended to clear the "exit points" first—the area just above the collarbones—before encouraging fluid from further down the body to move. Creating space at the destination allows the lymphatic system to drain more efficiently.

🎥 Watch the video where I explain this technique.

And now I'm curious...
Do you have "armpits"... or "arm puffs"? 😉 Let me know in the comments!

A reminder to support your lymphatic system every day.

Your lymphatic system doesn't have a pump like your heart—it relies on your breathing, movement, muscle contractions, and gentle manual stimulation to help move fluid through the body.

A few minutes of self-lymphatic drainage each day can help:
Reduce puffiness and swelling
Support healthy fluid movement - including within the brain and organs
Encourage relaxation
Leave you feeling lighter and more connected to your body

You don't need to spend hours doing it. Even 3–5 minutes can make a difference.
Follow the sequence in this guide, using very light pressure (the lymph vessels sit just beneath the skin).
Clear the collarbone area first, then work through the neck, face, armpits, abdomen, groin and legs, gently re-clearing the collarbone and groin throughout to keep the pathways open.

If you'd like to turn it into a nourishing self-care ritual, spend 5+minutes on each area, using slow, rhythmic strokes and gentle skin stretches.

Breathe deeply, move slowly, and allow it to become a moment of calm for your nervous system as well as your lymphatic system.

Simply Flow is my specialised manual lymphatic drainage treatment, available in 60-minute or 90-minute sessions, depending on client needs.
> So if you can- take your time with your lymphatic drainage massage.

By the way Simply Flow sessions are tailored to support post-surgical recovery, swelling (for many reasons), fluid congestion during/post pregnancy, nervous system regulation, or simply to leave you feeling lighter, calmer and restored.
