The Yoga Pantry

The Yoga Pantry The Yoga Pantry is your one-stop place for feel-good vibes with uplifting workouts, relaxation, and

People generally want to know "what style do you teach" Yoga is not a style, rather it is a lifestyle ;)

So in answer to that question, here at The Yoga Pantry, our instructors have been trained in traditional yoga asana, philosophy and lifestyle. It's a really integrated approach that allows us to customise the lessons to suit the needs of our students without being constrained to a specific "st

yle" or brand. Traditional yoga encompasses all of the postures that you find in branded "styles" of yoga asana plus all of the postures that get overlooked but offer a lot of really important benefits. We also incorporate relaxation, meditation and breathwork (pranayama) to give you a well-rounded yoga practise that enhances the benefits of the asana (postures). Our classes consist of general yoga classes, prenatal classes, yoga for relaxation and restoration, stress relief, yin and flow yoga as well as meditation and relaxation classes. We also offer yoga for disability, elderly, or just someone looking for a gentle way to stay healthy. Along with a variety of other great course and workshop options to keep you feeling healthy, energised and enjoying every moment of your life. Come into the Pantry and unleash the abundance within :)

Monday Mudra - Vishuddha Mudra
Gesture of purification

( Remember last week's mudra for protection from our limiting beliefs? Well now we have a mudra to purify those beliefs and free us from them completely โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ)

Shaucha means "purity," and refers to purification at all levels of our being.

At the physical level, Shaucha is the purification of our bodies through appropriate diet and lifestyle. Shaucha also refers to purity in our surroundings by creating a clear, open space, inspiring us to live with simplicity, naturally allowing us to focus on our spiritual journey.

At the level of the mind, Shaucha is the spaciousness that allows us to meet each new experience openly
as a field of appreciation, learning and awakening.

When we meet life with
fewer judgments and preconceived attitudes, negative thought patterns
emotional reactions and limiting beliefs come to the surface to be seen, witnessed and gradually released. As we meet life with greater openness and
simplicity, the purity of our essential being is revealed naturally.

Vishuddha means "purification," and Vishuddha mudra directs breath, awareness and energy into the throat, our center of spiritual purification.

This gesture enhances circulation to the vocal cords, releasing tension which cultivates greater ease in speaking and singing.

This mudra also increases
circulation to the thyroid gland, balancing metabolism and instilling a sense of equanimity that supports our spiritual journey.

At a subtle level, this gesure opens and balances Vishuddha chakra, supporting the release of limiting beliefs, thereby revealing the inherent purity of our true being.

Vishuddha mudra creates space between thoughts, cultivating greater clarity and objectivity, allowing intuition to awaken naturally.

"I'll be happy when..."

When I get the job. The relationship. The body. The answer. The clarity. The thing that's just slightly out of reach right now.

Sound familiar? ๐ŸŒฟ

Our latest Yogi Notes is exploring one of yoga's most profound and quietly radical teachings.

Apurna, the illusion of incompleteness - and asking the question that just might change everything:

What if you already have everything you need?

We're talking ancient Upanishad wisdom, the neuroscience of the hedonic treadmill, and a simple 5-minute practice to help you find the fullness that's been here all along.

This one's a keeper.

Have you ever left a yoga class feeling like you kind of got through it... but didn't really understand it?

You knew the poses well enough to follow along. But your alignment felt off, or you lost the thread during a tricky transition, or you just had that nagging feeling that there's a whole layer to this that you're missing.

That feeling is really common. And it's actually a sign that you're ready for more.

Small group. Structured learning. Real progress.

Over 8 weeks you'll go deeper into poses, breathwork, transitions, and yoga philosophy โ€” in a supportive environment where there's time to actually learn, not just keep up.

Monday Mudra on a Tuesday
Gupta mudra - protection from our limiting beliefs.

Gupta means "secret" or "hidden," and Gupta mudra cultivates a sense of
entering an inner sanctuary of safety and security.

Within the safety of this
sanctuary, we are able to explore, integrate and eventually release our identification with the limiting beliefs that separate us from our true being.

This gesture instills a sense of grounding that supports us in maintaining our equanimity as we explore our limiting beliefs, creating a space in which transformation can occur more easily.

Gupta mudra further enhances this sense of an
inner sanctuary by cultivating silence and inner peace that allows us to align with our authentic being.

Gupta mudra directs breath, awareness and energy to the base of the body, pelvis and solar plexus, expanding abdominal breathing and creating a massaging effect that supports digestion and elimination.

This gesture relaxes the musculature of the entire body, especially the shoulders, neck, face and
nead. This relaxation of the face and head allows the jaw to soften completely
which may be helpful for TMJ.

Gupta mudra integrates the left and right, male and female polarities of our being, instilling a sense of balance that allows us to rest more easily within our inner sanctuary.

With enhanced digestion,
greater relaxation and balanced polarities, Gupta mudra supports us in releasing all the limiting beliefs that keep us from resting within our sanctuary of serenity and safety.
