This weekend saw the successful launch of the MRI EVENT READY™ First Response programme, with a fantastic cohort of 20 participants completing the course in Dunedin.

Designed specifically for the events industry, this programme helps equip event staff with the knowledge and confidence to recognise, respond, report, and escalate common medical presentations encountered at events.

MRI was proud to be represented at the Mass Gathering Collaboration Symposium on the Gold Coast, Australia.

Bringing together experts from around the world, the symposium explored the future of mass gathering health, with discussions ranging from Olympic Games planning and public health preparedness to clinical governance, workforce development, and emerging models of event healthcare.

MRI had the privilege of sharing New Zealand’s experience and contributing to conversations on how we can continue to strengthen healthcare delivery in complex event environments. It was encouraging to see many of the challenges, opportunities, and innovations being discussed on a global stage closely align with the work underway here in Aotearoa.

As the event health sector continues to evolve, international collaboration remains critical to improving patient outcomes, strengthening health system resilience, and ensuring safe and successful events for communities worldwide.

A sincere thank you to the organisers, presenters, and delegates for creating such a valuable opportunity to learn, share, and connect with colleagues from across the globe.

Fieldays 2026 is officially underway! 🚜🚑

Today marked the first day of event operations as MRI and Wellington Free Ambulance once again joined forces to deliver medical coverage, this time at New Zealand’s largest agricultural event.

From rapid response teams to our onsite medical centre, our crews are ready to support the thousands of visitors expected through the gates over the coming days.

A huge thank you to our planning, operational, and clinical staff who have hit the ground running. Here’s to a safe and successful Fieldays 2026.

1,103 steps. Full firefighting gear. No quit. 🔥

Saturday’s Firefighter Sky Tower Stair Challenge was a reminder of the grit, determination, and teamwork that exists within our emergency services community.

Our MRI crews were onsite throughout the event, supporting climbers all the way to the top of the tower.

Massive respect to everyone who took part for such an incredible cause - Blood Cancer NZ 👏
