My pōtiki made me super proud this evening as he entered his own art into the Matariki exhibition at Art Centre Helensville. I've been entering art in various exhibitions more and more in the last few years but I still find it quite a daunting process! My art is hugely processing pieces for me so it feels kind of exposing I guess, Jack on the other hand loved telling people of his process and the emotive spaces they came from and he's such inspo to me!

There is also a collab piece my tamariki and I made together called the 'Craconite Horn', a piece of driftwood I created with that inspired a mythical creature creation from them. Some of these pieces might be my favorite creations yet; using resin, fabric, wire, paint, crystals, glass and ecobricks all together to make 'Inner Light' was such a beautiful journey. 'Oh Mama' is my piece about infant loss and the grief as part of motherhood and it feels strange to finally let her be seen out of my own space!

The Matariki exhibition runs until the 25th of July if you are keen to check it out. There is some really stunning pieces from many various artists. I'm so grateful for our little community and the people and spaces within it 💛 Mānawatia a Matariki 💫

If you haven't yet sorted a Mother's Day present, might I suggest buying from somewhere local... like maybe even The Little Coolstore or Kumeū Arts where you could purchase some of my resin geode art pieces or butterfly wing earrings (aroha to Franklin Farm Waimauku for the butterflies) 🙌💙💜💚

Supporting local and small businesses is such a powerful way to use your purchasing power in a way that supports human rights, cause this economy is fuccct 🫠😜

oil process... its super simple to infuse oils with plant material, you can do it quicker if you use a heat method, but this is the tried and true for infusions- I always make sure we have some in the house.

Strain it at the end of about 4-6 weeks and use for a plethora of things on the people and animals in your whare!

You have the entirety of ingredients required within your inner landscape to make the healing, transmute or upgrades you want to make in your life and world... having the right kind of recipe, opportunities and support to make that come together however, is a different story!

Thanks to Franklin Farm Butterfly House for collecting some perished monarches for me to resin into jewellery. My butterfly earrings are one of the styles I get asked about most and the privilege of a big box of them means I have been busy working away on making sure I have a bunch made up for market.

The single wing style are $30 a pair and the full butterfly style (like the type I am wearing here) are $45 a pair, $25 for the smaller heart shape ones. If you are keen to buy some online, send me a DM and I can send you details for purchase ✌️🦋

Women working together is such powerful, powerful mahi! Spent the day upskilling with some women's health fitness and injury rehab training, soaking up all the learning. Kirstyn is a powerhouse, she's an invaluable resource for mama and people who train them- I am so grateful for all the learning from her for so many years now 🙏

Being empowered to feel strong and confident in your body as wahine is life changing stuff, it's significance and benefit just increase! Working out to fit our cycle, tuning in and listening to our bodies through pregnancy and postnatally (which is forever after you've had a baby) and supporting the quality of life we want to maintain through perimenopause and beyond with specific targeted training is all stuff that are genuinely revolutionary acts! 💪💜

The mere feat that is growing and birthing pepi alone makes us so magical, but as was said many times over today, "can you imagine if men....". The world we live in doesn't do justice or honour to any aspect of the Feminine experience, it's nice to be on the collective wave that is all about turning that on its head! 💫

There are anxiety loops I've inherited intergenerationally that years of therapy couldn't touch; this kind of stuff though, well its the powerful witchy s**t that history already taught us was unstoppable-after all, you don't vilify something that poses no threat...

Been a while since my minis and I have busted out a market table set up! I'm not the only one in the house with ear piercings now, they seem to have taken most of our focus since 🤙😂💜✨️

In Aboriginal culture, Storylines is the term used describe how spaces and information link together, literally weaving information and ancestral knowing.

Associative memory learning is such an effective way to retain information. I make little stories of information which I share with my kiddos, they surprise me with reminders sometimes.

As we walked yesterday we started the discussion of Manuka vs Kanuka in identification. Recently reminded of the little story of identification while on a Rongoā hikoi, I shared this, how I remember the hints of identification between the two.

Kanuka can't hold its nuts, it drops them so does not have the long standing seed pods with flowers as well like Manuka does 😉🍃🌰
