Be Your Own Guru This is an invitation back to your own inner authority. My work centres on listening to the body as an intelligent system. [email protected]

Holistic Health Practitioner
Yin Yoga | Fascial Unwinding | Personalised 1:1 Support
I offer body-based practices that support nervous system regulation, embodied awareness, and self-led healing. I offer body-based holistic health support through Yin Yoga, fascial unwinding, and personalised 1:1 sessions. Rather than forcing change, we create the conditions for regulation, release, and insight to

emerge naturally. This may support nervous system balance, reduced tension, greater body awareness, and a stronger sense of self-trust. I don’t position myself as the expert over your experience. Instead, I work alongside you to help you reconnect with your own inner guidance. The aim is not dependency, but capacity. Tools you can feel, understand, and carry into daily life. This is slow, embodied work for people who want sustainable change and a deeper relationship with themselves.

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga (as exercise), incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas (postures) that are held for longer periods of time than in other yoga styles.

Advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. As conceptualized in the Taoist and Dharmic traditions, the sequences of postures are meant to stimulate the channels of the subtle body, known as meridians in Chinese medicine and as nadis in Hatha yoga.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fasciae, and ligaments—intending to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

Yin Yoga & Cacao
Sunday 14 June
4pm - 6pm
Body Restore Clinic

Over the weekend while on retreat, our very first landing activity was a deliciously nourishing Yin Yoga Class in front of a fire.

It's been some time since I've been able to receive a class in a similar way to how I teach one. Spacious, slow & listening.

In the first pose, I could feel my body & mind ask, are we allowed to drop in and receive here? When I acknowledged that was happening, and that I wasn't the teacher, out poured the deluge.

It was pure bliss to allow myself to drop into receiving mode.

Do you let yourself switch roles from the carer, the giver, the tender of your whanau, and allow yourself to fully receive, to rest & restore?

I would love for you to join us this Sunday to do just that.

2 hours of undisturbed time for you, coupled with ceremonial cacao.

Welcome June!!

June brings with her the themes of feminine fire rising & a call to stillness - according to Lee Harris's June Energy Update.

Within our events you'll find plenty of the above. Space to tap into your inner feminine - regardless of whether you're male or female - as we hold both polarities within.

There's space for stillness, to honor the quiet within. If there's a call for cultivating your inner calm, we got you. Our events take the time for you to drop in to your peace.

We'd love to see you, whether movement calls in the form of your own dance expression, or creating shapes (stretches), on your yoga mat, or sitting in circle with other wāhine - sharing what is on your heart.

Bookings are essential for all events. You'll find the link in my bio.

Fascia is trending.
And for good reason.

Across healing modalities, movement spaces, and wellbeing circles, more people are beginning to understand the role fascia plays in how we feel, move, and carry life through the body.

Fascia is the body’s connective web.
A living network that surrounds muscles, organs, bones, nerves and more.

When there’s injury, stress, surgery, trauma, repetitive movement, or long-held tension, the body adapts. Compensation patterns form. Tightness accumulates. Movement becomes less fluid.

Sometimes the body whispers.
Sometimes it shouts through aches, niggles, fatigue, stiffness, or feeling “not quite right”.

Fascia can be worked with physically through myofascial release, and more subtly through fascia unwinding; an approach that invites the body to release patterns of tension, protection, and holding.

Many people describe sessions as creating more space, ease, mobility, emotional release, and connection within themselves.

Like clearing old files from an overloaded system, the body often knows what it’s ready to let go of when given the right environment.

Fascia Unwinding may support you if:
• your body feels tight, heavy or restricted
• you’re recovering from injury or surgery
• stress has been living in the body
• you’re craving more ease, softness, movement or flow

Sessions available in person or online.
Single sessions and packages available.

Why I Teach Yin

Once upon a time, a long long time ago, I didn’t stop. I was like a train that kept going-and-going-and-going-and-going…

I was young – I could get away with it. Burn the candle at both ends some would call it.

I was a gym ju**ie, high-intensity, listen to your club hits on repeat, until the endorphins kicked in, kind of exerciser.

Those habits then transformed into working towards a goal of competing on stage as a Natural Bodybuilder. All looking pretty healthy from the outside some might think.

I did really well in the competition, being my first and only having prepared for a year. But as a famous trainer said to me one day after that competition - in the gym – there’s a reaction to every action. What goes up, must come down, so to speak. I crashed. I had depleted my body so severely it was time to rest. What was rest?

The story continues into the undoing of the identity that I’d created for myself, alongside with addressing deep trauma that I had been subconsciously running from, built on beliefs that I wasn’t good enough and didn’t love myself. They all came to the fore in the most powerfully uncomfortable but hugely necessary way.

Following on from this experience, it was inevitable that my yin energy needed deep healing & that’s what happened for me.

I’d been fully in my masculine energy as a gym ju**ie and striving head first towards my goal, my feminine (yin) energy hadn’t been in sight.

I spent years healing ‘her’. She’d been suppressed due the party drugs I’d taken during my clubbing days, followed by my gym habits. It now became so clear why I was able to achieve so much – but at what cost?

I spent 4.5 years seeing a TCM – Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, healing my spleen energy & inner heat dampness. On the other side of things, life was very different. After a crash & dissolution of identity – I began the rebuild.

Who am I now when said identity no longer exists? How do I now walk, connected with my feminine and balancing her with my masculine?

I teach Yin because I see that humanity carries less intense, or equal to, versions of my own story. Working hard and fast towards something, or maybe nothing, but not embracing their more feminine qualities within.

Yin is delicious, she is expansive and beautiful. She is the sun on your skin on an Autumn day. She’s the smell of the flowers you’re passing by, she is the present touch on your skin from your lover. She is all the good, and makes this world & these moment fulfilling.

Without her, we are hungry, driven, focused, achieving machines. And those qualities aren’t bad – they’re just out of balance with her.

The feminine and the masculine NEED to work together – they are designed to work together. Their qualities complement one another. How exquisite is it to rest in harmony & union with another and feel such. I’m here to say & remind that it is.

We are all love beings, and on an inner quest and journey to remember, and it starts with working with our inner feminine & masculine qualities.

So, what is your relationship with these?

Are they balanced?
Are you more in one than the other?
Are they at odds with each other?

Do you resist the slow, the resting?
Do you resist the action, making decisions?

My invitation, is to get curious about your inner relationship with each.

The exciting thing when we do, they mirror our outer relationships. Who we attract in, what we’re willing to tolerate, how we treat ourselves.

This is what I’ve been up to for years. Each male I attracted in, teaching me something about how I was treating myself. Last year I feel I came into balance, into inner union with my energies, and the game changed.

Are you ready for greater love?

Yin Yoga & Cacao returns THIS Sunday 17 May ✨

This class is designed for you.
A chance to gift yourself precious time & space to come back home to yourself.

We’ll begin with a slow ceremonial cacao meditation, giving you the opportunity to drink this deliciously rich plant medicine while settling gently into your body.

Cacao supports the subtle energies of the heart, while also nourishing you with nutritional goodness.

From there, you’ll be guided through a slow & gentle Yin Yoga practice, where I deeply listen to each individual nervous system.

Slow & steady allows feelings of stress, tension & overwhelm to be safely acknowledged, softened & released.

You’ll move at your own pace, with guidance & options offered within each pose to support your individual body.

We’ll close with a yummy immersive savasana to integrate your mindful & restorative practice before wrapping up & heading back out into the world.

There are only a few spots left.
Is one of them yours? ✨

The return of Yin & Cacao - https://mailchi.mp/34828a8a3691/3-months-at-body-restore-clinic-13914702

I write to you today, sitting in my garden with the sunshine pouring down, Angel next to me, barking at whatever she can. What a joy!

The weather has recently began to turn towards being cooler. My tiny (house) awakens in the morning with condensation on its windows and my breath is seen as I exhale. I am alive!

“I returned from Wellington on Monday after spending 4 nights there with a dear friend.

It’s been some amount of time since I’ve been immersed in city life. I enjoyed many things about it. The abundance of delish foods, great coffee, amazing stores filled with all the shiny things & unique clothing. Great memory making times with my friend plus enjoying Fat Freddys Drops’ 21st Anniversary Tour.

All of this is to share, that it took me a good few days to come back to myself. I don’t think it was until maybe Friday morning, that I started to feel more myself again.

It’s invited me to reflect on many things.

One of them being, the disconnect humanity faces.

I consider myself to be a very connected human. Feeling the subtle realms on the constant, and highly attuned to my being.

It felt like the city easily distracted me from that.

The materialism, the noise, lights, colors, EMFs, activity… All loud over my subtle senses.

My room at night felt loud and was bright. The security lights outside the complex beaming in, disrupting my deep REM sleep. The energy in the room, disconnected from Earths energy & filled with the frequencies of neighbors and city buzz. The first two nights were challenging to bring myself in & fall asleep. I had to wear my noise canceling headphones, and wrap my scarf around my eyes, so that it felt dark.

You know how people say when moving into a new home, on a busy road, or near a train track, “oh, you get used to it”. Sure in some ways we can choose to, but in others, I wonder if it’s a desensitizing of our being, to accept that we get used to something? The body is adaptable, and yes, it can get used to things, if we allow and choose for that. However, on the deeper subtle levels, I know something different.

The last two nights, I slept, sure. But I sure as heck missed my rural & peaceful tiny house. The difference being, I knew contrast. I knew that I had my chosen environment waiting on the other side for me.

How many of us choose our reality, because that’s what we know, or subconsciously, believe it’s what we’re worth? A question to ponder.

Now I know that there is an agenda to keep humanity asleep. And by asleep I mean, blinded by the reality of our origins and who we are. It’s in the food, our water, healthcare, the technology that controls many, and the conditioning in our schooling to name a few.

Once we commence our journey of awakening, and deconditioning the world that we know begins to look very different.

Returning from Wellington, another layer has been revealed. This peaceful existence that I have created for myself. Once upon a time, I may have questioned largely, begins to expand in making greater sense.

More than ever, it is louder to find your peace. Connect with your inner calm. Come to know who we are, outside of the life that we’ve carved for ourselves.

Why do you do the things you do?

Is it because you want to? Or because there’s a belief that you have to?

Often for many, there is an underlying belief of ‘having to’.

I have to go to work

I have to do this thing

I have to complete these tasks

Gotta keep up with everything that’s going on.

It’s subconscious… it’s a Root Chakra, primal, belonging, tribal fitting in thing.

My invitation for you, is to pause. Can you allow yourself to slow down.

Take some deep breaths, and rest in this space.

Breathe in this paused space.

How long can you pause here for, before you need to move, need to distract?

Can you allow yourself to simply be?

Be with what is?

Be with your thoughts.

Be with yourself, and all that is here.

This is the invitation.

Can you meet yourself here?

For more moments of greater calm, and coming back to self, please join us this Sunday 17 May to welcome back the return of Yin Yoga & Cacao.

Think ceremonial cacao all to yourself, in a gently lit space, soothing tunes, and space to explore your rich inner terrain, as we move through a range of shapes (poses), designed to support you to release stored tension, nurture your nervous system, unwind stress and anything else you’ve been carrying. Schedule in this time for you now.
