The Hāpai Access Card team visits SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s! 🐧🦈

While in Auckland, members of the Hāpai Access Card team had the opportunity to visit SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium!

It was fantastic to spend some time exploring one of Auckland’s well-known attractions and experiencing everything the aquarium has to offer.

From getting up close with incredible marine life 🐟 to seeing the penguins 🐧 and exploring the underwater displays, there was plenty to see and enjoy!

Visits like this are also a great opportunity for our team to experience different attractions first-hand and continue thinking about accessibility, inclusion and how disabled people and their whānau can feel welcomed and supported when enjoying days out in the community. 💚

A big thank you to the team at SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s for having us!

🌼 DAFFODIL DAY 2026 🌼

Today, Friday 28 August, Hāpai Access Card is proud to acknowledge Daffodil Day and stand alongside people across Aotearoa affected by cancer.

Daffodil Day is a powerful symbol of hope, bringing communities together to support the Cancer Society and the important services they provide for people with cancer and their whānau.

For many people, accessibility, understanding and having the right support can make a huge difference during challenging times. At Hāpai Access Card, we believe everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and understanding when accessing everyday services and experiences.

Today we recognise those living with cancer, those supporting loved ones, those we remember, and the incredible people working and volunteering to provide support throughout Aotearoa.

Wear your yellow, support the collectors if you can, and help spread a little hope this Daffodil Day. 🌼💚

Remembering Dolly Parton - 1946 - 2026 💚

Today, the Hāpai Access Card team joins people around the world in mourning the passing of Dolly Parton, who has died at the age of 80.

Dolly was so much more than a country music legend. Across an extraordinary lifetime, she used her music, humour, generosity and compassion to bring joy and hope to millions of people.

Beyond the stage, her philanthropy made a lasting difference, particularly through initiatives such as the Imagination Library, helping children and families access books and discover a love of reading.

Dolly showed how kindness, generosity and simply caring about others can leave an impact far greater than fame.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, fans and everyone around the world whose lives she touched.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. Your music, kindness and incredible legacy will live on. 💚

What a day we’ve had at the Next Steps expo in Christchurch! 💚

The Hāpai Access Card team has been here all day connecting with the disability community, meeting organisations and checking out some of the fantastic accessibility and mobility solutions on display.

Thomas even got the chance to try out this awesome three-wheel all-terrain vehicle from Vehicle Adaptions a pretty cool way to experience one of the innovative mobility options at the expo!

We’ve loved being part of a day focused on accessibility, inclusion, independence and creating more opportunities for disabled people across Aotearoa.
