🦴Boost your bones 🦴

Let food be your first medicine in keeping your skeleton strong 🩻

Calcium, vitamin D and protein are all primary drivers of bone health. Nutrients like vitamin K, magnesium and phosphorus are all important for maintaining healthy bones and muscles.

Diet can be a complicated subject but here are some basic recommend foods:

Calcium - Dairy, kale, collard greens, almonds, tinned sardines (with bones), soy foods, chia seeds & dried fruit (like figs)🥛🧀

Vitamin D - Salmon, mackerel, tuna, egg yolks 🐟🥚

Magnesium - Spinach, okra, potatoes, kumara, raisins 🥔 🍠

Vitamin K - Prunes, spinach, brussel sprouts, kale 🥗 🥬

Potassium - Papaya, oranges, bananas, plantains, tomatoes 🍊🍌

So it’s on again! 🎿Great to be back up the mountain. Like so many of my patients – we’ve been hanging out for some good snow news.

The saying goes “it takes a village to raise a child” - likewise it has taken a village to get me up the mountain.

Thanks to Moorhouse Osteopathic Centre for the treatment. Thanks to my mate Mike for sorting out my ski’s in his garage. Thanks to Alana Joe (PT) for the ski strengthening exercises –great way to avoid injury. Thanks to the ski instructor who will help me with my technique.

Body sorted, equipment sorted – see you up there.⛷⛷⛷

Prepping for the ski season.⛷🎿

It's that time again - ski season is nearly upon us but are you prepared.

We are really lucky to have tips from top PT Alana Joe. A great way to avoid injuries is to prepare ahead of season.

Healing from injuries requires good nutrition. Body work and a great diet are a foundation for good health.

Black pepper has been a spice prized for thousands of years. Recent research indicates that it boosts the absorption of nutrients. Tiny droplets of fat found in olive oil have also been found to aid absorption. So how about having a black pepper & olive oil dressing on your salad today.

Congratulations to one of our patients for running the London marathon and keeping Kenya’s Sabastian Sawe company, as he achieved “sporting immortality” by breaking the 2 hour barrier of marathon running (without pacemakers).🏅

It is a special pleasure helping our patients reach their goals – from black belts, Coast to Coast or improving their golf handicaps.🚴⛷🏌🏻‍♀️These are just a few of the amazing things people we work with have achieved.

What are your goals & how can we help you achieve them?
