Kia ora koutou. I'm Sammie and I'm a Registered Midwife who works in Ōtautahi and its surrounding suburbs. I have been working since I became registered in 2018 and I love the rewarding work I do 💜
I am a Māma to two sons and a step-daughter who I am fiercely protective of!
I had my eldest son when I was 17 and I believe this has given me the firm belief that age doesn’t make you a mother. I remember being told I had ruined my life but I’m so proud that I have proven those people wrong as I am now living my life, with a career that has always been a dream of mine.
When I’m not working alongside hāpu Māma, you’ll find me at the gym lifting some pretty heavy weights! I love a good catch up with friends over coffee and a nap if I can find the time 😉
I am passionate about the rewarding work I do and I believe that pregnancy and childbirth is a normal, yet significant life event and I support wāhine and their whānau to make empowering decisions for them and their pēpi. I support wāhine to birth where they feel most comfortable but I have a strong focus on home and primary unit birthing 💜
