Let’s talk about the most feared complications of using anti-wrinkle in the upper third of the face, frown and forehead!

These 3 main complications are a scary thought, we want these treatments to make us look refreshed, right?

The thought of peaky surprised brows or sleepy eyes doesn’t sound good.
Thankfully, these can be easily avoided and also corrected or softened at 2-3 weeks.

Take away points:

⚡️Injectors are just as scared of these as you are!
Make sure you follow your post treatment care, and follow dosing advice, you don’t want to “rob Peter, to pay Paul” to then have to meet MR Spock 🫣

⚡️Find an honest injector, if my patient will not benefit from having their upper forehead treated, I will tell them, if they want a frozen forehead and it won’t make them look better, I will tell them!

⚡️It is COMMON for your treatment to feel heavy or firm at 2 weeks and your brows can often feel a little restricted, depending on your dose and treatment area.
Things will ebb and flow for the 2-3 week period, this is perfectly normal.
Full effect 2 weeks, softened and sitting perfect at 4 weeks is my rule!

⚡️These complications are not common, but do occur, make sure you let your injector know, so you can both reach the best result together!

How do you choose your practitioner?

The majority of my clients come from word of mouth referral, which I am very proud of.
I have built a loyal family of clients, a relationship built on trust, honesty, integrity and skill.

This has led me to consider, how do the majority of women & men choose their practitioner?

One of my own considerations that would impact my provider choice, would be their expertise and experience, understanding of anatomy, and rapport.

As a registered nurse aesthetic nurse in New Zealand, we have to hold a current practicing certificate with clinical supervision by a cosmetic doctor.
We are governed by the same rules that any other nurse is governed by, plus more. This is not limited to: clinical hours & professional development hours.

This is where independent practitioners like myself, invest time and money into furthering our knowledge base, to keep up to date with the advances in our field, best practice techniques and safe treatment.

I am currently attending 4 comprehensive learning days in Sydney at the international Aesthetics 2023, to continue to build on my knowledge to benefit my my own development, the clinic, and my clients aesthetic outcomes. Despite my 9 years in this area, you never stop learning.

Thank you to all of those who have continued to support me throughout the last 4.5 years of LHA.

The growing demand for my aesthetic & skin health services, has sparked some exciting changes for the clinic.
A beautiful new clinic opening March 2023, with 3 treatment rooms to accommodate new, and existing clientele.

For those of you who have not yet met my new team member, Isabelle - Registered Nurse, all skin treatments are now under her care and guidance. I will continue to focus on injectables, to offer a breadth of knowledge and skill to my clients.

We have some exciting new treatments, and medical grade technology to add to our skin treatment services next year.
For those of you whom have been patiently waiting to become a member of the clinic, I have opened up some new client initial consultation appointments for March, which can be made via the website. There are a select few, these will snap up quickly.

The Basics of PRP
Platelet-rich plasma is a substance from your own blood that contains high concentrations of powerful healing growth factors. Plasma is the liquid part of your blood, it allows platelets (a type of blood cell that helps your blood clot) to move freely through your blood.

Platelets are blood cells with several roles to play in the body.
One is to promote blood clotting so that a person does not excessively bleed when they are cut.
Another is to contain proteins in the blood that help wounds to heal.
