🎓✨ Congratulations to our six Purapura Whetū kaimahi who proudly graduated last weekend in Wellington with a Diploma in Māori Public Health (Level 6), specialising in Addiction, Mental Health, Gambling and Gaming Harm.

This significant achievement reflects their dedication and commitment to improving hauora outcomes for whānau and communities across Aotearoa. While balancing full-time mahi, whānau responsibilities, and study commitments, they travelled throughout the motu to attend intensive wānanga and deepen their knowledge of kaupapa Māori approaches to health and wellbeing.

We are especially proud that this programme is the first of its kind to include a dedicated focus on Gambling and Gaming Harm, helping to strengthen the Māori Public Health workforce and respond to emerging challenges facing our communities.

Ngā mihi nui to Te Rau Ora, Poutiri Wellness Centre, the kaiako, facilitators, whānau, friends, and everyone who supported our graduates throughout this journey. 💙

Active Muslim Explorers hosted a special all-girls Art Day for tamariki 🎨

Organised by Noraini from the Muslim Wellbeing Team and facilitated by a Fine Arts student from the University of Canterbury, twelve young wāhine aged 10–12 spent the afternoon trying decoupage for the first time, layering colours, patterns, and images to create something uniquely their own.

A beautiful theme emerged throughout the day, with many of the girls choosing to create artwork inspired by their mums.

By the end of the session, each rangatahi had created something meaningful and full of heart. 💖

This Samoan Language Week, we sat down with two of our kaimahi, Ben Lavea from Tū Manawa Ora and Mahlon Saumalu from Te Huinga Kōtuku, to kōrero about culture, identity and language. 🇼🇸

While their journeys with Gagana Samoa have looked different, both share a deep pride in who they are and where they come from.

During this Vaiaso o le Gagana Samoa, they're sharing what being Samoan means to them, the importance of staying connected to culture, and why it's never too late to embrace your language and identity. 🌟
