Restoration of Mana & Tapu 🌿

**“Restoration of Mana & Tapu – 6 Years On…”**

For me, recovery has never been only about what is happening physically. My journey has taught me that healing is also about the **restoration of my mana and tapu** — reconnecting with who I am, where I come from, what gives me strength, my whānau, my whenua, my whakapapa, my wairua and my sense of purpose.

Through my own lived experience, **MY MOKO** developed as a way of looking at wellbeing holistically, drawing on **Te Whare Tapa Whā** and recognising **five interconnected areas of wellbeing**:

**Wairua – Spiritual**
**Hinengaro – Mental & Emotional**
**Tinana – Physical**
**Whānau – Social & Relationships**
**Whenua & Whakapapa – Land, Identity & Belonging**

For me, **Whenua and Whakapapa** are especially important. They remind me that wellbeing is also about knowing **where I come from, where I belong, who I am connected to, and the generations that came before me and those who will come after me.**

Six years on, I can look back and recognise that recovery is not necessarily about returning to the person I was before. It has been about **rebuilding, reconnecting, restoring and finding a new sense of balance.**

**PONO – Be honest.
TIKA – Find solutions.
AROHA – Clarify your direction.**

For me, that is what the **restoration of mana and tapu** is about. ❤️🌿

Ataahua Wellbeing Solutions offers holistic wellbeing services and programmes grounded in whānau ora, cultural identity, healing, empowerment and connection.
Our signature programme, MY MOKO, supports individuals and whānau through a culturally grounded approach to wellbeing that nurtures the mind, body, spirit and identity.
