*Why Is One Session Usually Not Enough?*
One of the most common questions Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy practitioners hear is:
"How many sessions will I need?"
The most honest answer is: It depends on what your body is trying to change.
The human body is not a machine that can simply be repaired. It is a living, adaptive system where the nervous system, fluids, fascia, and tissues are constantly interacting.
Many physical and emotional patterns do not appear suddenly. They develop gradually—sometimes over months or years—as the body adapts to stress, injury, or overwhelming experiences. These patterns are not failures; they are often intelligent survival strategies that once helped the organism stay balanced and functional.
And just as they develop over time, they also need time to change.
In Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, we do not force change. We support the conditions in which the nervous system can gradually return to regulation, allowing the body to reorganise long-held patterns at its own pace.
Each session builds on the previous one. The body integrates what has shifted, finds a new sense of stability, and only then reveals what is ready to emerge next. This process cannot be rushed and is different for everyone.
This does not mean therapy should continue endlessly.
The goal is never dependence on the practitioner.
On the contrary—the aim is to strengthen the body’s natural capacity for self-regulation, so that over time the need for treatment naturally decreases.
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy is not a quick fix. It is a way of supporting deeper, more sustainable change by working with the body’s inherent intelligence.
