It has been a while but we are gearing up to offer our FINAL PUBLIC 3 Year Mahi Wairua Practitioner course ever! This will be delivered via zoom for the 2026 Matariki Intake (July 29-31).

If you work in the community with a passion to work with our people, then you probably chose this work because you care. You show up every day for people who are hurting.

But how many of those people are still stuck years later?

Not because our workers aren't good enough. But because the framework we were trained in wasn't built for what they're actually carrying.

Trauma isn't just psychological.
Disconnection isn't just social.
And wellbeing isn't just physical.

Some, if not most, of our people are carrying hara. And most practitioners/clinicians were never taught how to see it let alone work with it.

But it can change. And each Mahi Wairua Practitioner that we have in the community helps bring in that change. So far we have 75 graduates across multiple disciplines and industries with another 50 graduating next year.

The Matanga Mahi Wairua course teaches you a complete framework, rooted in mātauranga Māori, grounded in Te Ao Wairua to help understand and support people at the level where they can access healing.

Good news. After 2 months in hospital, Mr Niania is on home leave and is enjoying some reading on his favourite chair...

Here’s what Wiremu has taught over the last 36 years.

Matekite Is Activated. Then needs to be mentored.

For years, Wiremu held these wānanga. He has helped guide people into seeing, sensing, and understanding themselves and their gifts.

For the past 3 years, that responsibility has been carried forward by Lesley, his wife and lead trainer of the 3-year Mahi Wairua Practitioner pathway, and his support team.

Understanding and Developing Wānanga – Online | starts Thursday Morning, 23rd April, 9am.

Kia ora whanau. (Lesley Niania here)

We thought it was about time we updated you all since this page has turned quiet.

March 2nd, Wiremu had a blood clot in the left posterior artery of his brain and the team from Wellington were able to successfully retrieve the blood clot. After 5 days in Wellington ICU we were flown back to the Gisborne Hospital where we have been since then.

Wiremu has made a remarkable recovery and continues to receive daily medical and spiritual attention in Gisborne Hospital. His memory is mostly affected.

We have intentionally not told everyone because his brain needs time to reset and rest. The nursing staff have been amazing and we limit his visiting time (because he enjoys hosting everyone! But the following day is where it shows).

He has said that the kaupapa that he started must finish. (And he reckons he's not done yet!)

With that being said, our family will continue to offer his teachings when we are able. And we appreciate your continued support, prayers and aroha.

WHAT I'M ASKING FROM YOU
If you have received any awhi from Wiremu in any form over the years, will you please send your karakia?

(And thank you to everyone who tell me I need to rest as well. I am figuring that out!) We have a "round-the-clock" sleepers and sitters with him. Especially if he wants to kōrero with "other" visitors lol! Or thinks the doctors are coming for a consultation with him. 😂 starts talking to them about their tupuna!

I am tired. But we are both good.
