The narrative around women’s postpartum health needs to change.

And yes, even if your kids have grown up. 🕰️

Too often still, I hear women dismissing symptoms that affect their quality of life, their relationships, their social life, their ability to jump on the trampoline with their kids as « normal because they had children. »🤰

“Bowel or bladder leaking, abnormal bleeding/spotting, lower back, painful periods, pelvic pain, incontinence, severe constipation, pain during in*******se, urgency to go to the toilet etc.”

⚠️What they describe might be common, but it is NOT normal.

Please, please, please don’t settle without first consulting your physician and a pelvic floor and women’s health specialist.

A proper assessment and professional guidance can turn things around.

What can help your sciatica?

2 ways to release the piriformis (the buttock muscle that sits closely to the sciatic nerve):

-🎾using a massage ball (choose the intensity that feels right for you. More intensity doesn’t mean better outcome)
-🪑stretching using the figure 4. This can be done sitting (on the floor or a chair) or even lying down (not shown on that video). Use the breath to relax into the stretch.

🚨Disclaimer: the piriformis is commonly involved in sciatica but it is NOT the cause of ALL sciatica presentations.
Check with your health practitioner if those exercises are the right fit for you.

Relationship between the head 👶and the tongue 👅of your baby:

Part 2- how compressive forces to baby’s skull (during pregnancy and birth) affect nerve exists.

One of those nerves is the hypoglossal nerve, which is motor to the tongue. It commands how the tongue moves: curls, lifts, drops, spreads, points.

It exists the skull through a tiny channel (the hypoglossal canal), at the base of the skull (occiput).

What happens to the occiput (which is in 4 seperate pieces at birth that haven’t fused yet) can irritate the hypoglossal nerve and interfere with the message to the tongue and how the tongue moves.

👅 Your baby's tongue is doing more than you think.

It's not just feeding — tongue movement shapes facial growth, jaw development, breathing, speech, even self-soothing. 🌿

If something feels "off" with feeding, sleep or settling, it's always worth getting checked.
