Thanks for all your mahi, and all the coffees, bikkies, and cheese +crackers.

I completed my 75th donation on Friday. I love my new bag, and the bag tag has already been put to use. 🫶🫶

If you are eligible, I highly recommend donating. The team at the Hamilton centre are just amazing!

World Breastfeeding week is just around the corner. How are you celebrating?

"WBW is celebrated every 1-7 August in commemoration of the 1990 Innocenti Declaration. WBW started in 1992, with annual themes including healthcare systems, women and work, the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes, community support, ecology, economy, science, education and human rights. Since 2016, WBW is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2018, a World Health Assembly resolution endorsed WBW as an important breastfeeding promotion strategy." WABA

Please seek out qualified support for breastfeeding/sleeping challenges.

Don't be afraid to ask what qualifications your provider has, and ask for proof too if you are unsure.

You and your baby deserve the right support.

As whānau across Aotearoa prepare for the weather events this weekend, now's a good time to think ahead - especially when it comes to feeding your pēpi.

Power, water, and access to shops can be disrupted, so a simple plan can make a big difference.

We've created a handy infant feeding emergency plan to help guide you 🤍

Did you know that your milk adapts to meet your babies needs?

In hot weather, your milk composition changes to ensure your baby will get all the hydration they need. Your baby may want to feed more frequently, and you will want to drink more fluids yourself. For exclusively breastfeed babies, supplementary water is simply not necessary¹.

Older babies may enjoy breastmilk iceblocks, breastmilk ice cream², or breastmilk smoothies as well.

You may find that breastfeeding on hot days leaves you and your baby hot and sweaty. Placing a thin cotton sheet/blanket between you and baby can help absorb some sweat. A portable, rechargeable fan may also be super handy.

Get in touch with your local group or Leader for more breastfeeding support³.
