Winter is here, and so are we.
This month at The Yoga Space we welcome two new classes to the timetable, Sunset Flow and Move Like a Yogi, alongside our regular classes every day of the week.
And on Friday evening, Tuning In and Yoga Nidra returns. This Yoga Nidra and Biofield Tuning winter series with Rachel and Erica was quietly special last winter, an invitation to rest deeply, tune inward, and nourish something that the busyness of life can't quite reach.
The studio is warm. The door is open. Come as you are.

So delighted to be introducing Tracy from Rebel Yoga, she is 200-hour certified yoga instructor teaching trauma-informed classes in a movement style blend of Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, Yang, Qigong and Tai Chi.

All classes are LGBTQ+ and neurospicy inclusive, with options for every level of practice

She is due to complete her 300-hr certification and is training in QiYo (Yoga and Qigong)

Tracy has been a yoga student for over 30 years, with a deep commitment to her personal practice as a lifelong student.

She’s taught aerial yoga, aerial hoop, aerial hammock and pole fitness and is half of an aerial doubles duo that’s competed and performed across NZ.

In her classes, there is no right or wrong way to do yoga.

Tracy believes that yoga is a very individual experience, and invites everyone to explore their inner Rebel to find what feels good for them.

Tracy became a yoga teacher because she wanted to challenge the perception that yoga is only led by gurus, for people with perfect poses, perfect bodies or brand-name gear.

Whether your goal is to be able to sit comfortably on the floor, to become a balancing warrior or warrioress, or just to lie on the mat and not have to talk to anyone for an hour, Tracy would love to welcome you to a class.

She will be teaching Sunset Flow, Monday's at 6pm. You can book here:

This class is a nourishing, trauma-informed yoga class for every level of practice. Using music, breathwork and Vinyasa inspired movement, designed to help you drop out of your mind and into your body. During our day-to-day lives, we don’t always have the space to tune into what our body is asking...

In a world that rewards busyness, choosing to rest is a radical act. ️
This Sunday, we begin The Slow Season Series, curated by Rachel who will sometimes be teaching solo and other times in collaboration with other teachers. This Sunday, Rachel will be teaching Rest & Restore, a deeply restorative practice where the only thing asked of you is to rest and let go.
Sink into long, quiet postures supported by bolsters, blankets, and blocks. Let your nervous system unwind. This is your permission slip to stop, breathe, and simply be.
All levels welcome. No experience needed.
The Yoga Space, Hastings

About Rachel
Over 18 years of teaching, yoga has taken me into many different settings and roles. Through all of it, restorative yoga has been a constant thread in my own personal practice, a place where I can protect my peace, nourish my nervous system, and soothe my soul through the inevitable ups and downs of life.
I've been fortunate to learn from some truly gifted teachers in this space. A particular highlight was studying yoga nidra with Uma Dinsmore-Tuli, founder of the Yoga Nidra Network in the UK, a teacher whose depth and wisdom have shaped my practice profoundly.

We have had some loyal and wonderful teachers move on recently due to changing life circumstances and so are on the hunt for teachers to join our sangha, not to fill a slot on a timetable, but to contribute to our community.
We want people whose teaching comes from a place of genuine practice and lived experience, who bring depth as well as skill, and who understand that a yoga class is an act of service.
We are particularly drawn to teachers who carry breadth alongside their yoga training, people who have walked other paths too, whether that’s bodywork, counselling, movement, music, Ayurveda, somatic work, dance, or something else entirely. These crossings enrich what you bring to the mat and to our community.
What We’re Looking For:

Essential
Minimum 200hr Yoga Teacher Training from a recognised school

A living, active personal practice, yoga is your path, not just your qualification

Experience teaching in a studio or community setting

Registration with Yoga NZ or equivalent, or willingness to obtain this

A genuine commitment to the ethical dimensions of teaching

Warmth, groundedness, and the ability to hold space for diverse students

If you are interested to take a weekly slot, offer a short course or a regular event, please be in touch with Rachel via email [email protected]
