When I started Tonic & Thyme, I knew I wanted skincare to be affordable, accessible and easy to fit into real life.

And by real life, I don't just mean something that fits nicely in your handbag.

Sometimes skincare happens standing at the bathroom sink.

Sometimes it happens sitting on the edge of the bed.

And sometimes you're the person beside that bed, helping someone else with the little everyday things they don't quite have the energy to do themselves.

Those experiences have shaped the way I think about Tonic & Thyme more than I probably realised in the beginning.

It's why I love having smaller, practical sizes.

Something that can live in a handbag, bedside drawer, hospital bag or carer's bag. Something that's easy to pick up and use without turning skincare into another big task.

It's also why affordability matters so much to me.

When life is already throwing enough at you, spending a fortune just to find out whether your skin likes something shouldn't be another worry.

I want people to be able to start small. Try something. Build a simple routine. Keep the products that bring their skin a little comfort and leave out everything they don't need.

As Tonic & Thyme grows, there will be new products, bigger sizes and plenty of changes — but this part isn't changing.

One of Tonic & Thyme's most underrated products

Soft Oat Cleansing Balm 🌾

I'll admit it..

I never understood why people would wash their face with oil when oil is what we're trying to remove.

Then I tried it.

Softer skin. Less congested pores. No more frantically looking for a moisturiser to apply to stop my skin feeling so tight and dry straight after cleansing.

The moment that completely sold me?

I was emptying the fireplace and got black soot on my arms and hand.
I went to the bathroom and used a little Soft Oat Cleansing Balm over it and watched the soot literally melt into the balm.
A quick rinse with warm water and my arm was clean.

Out of curiosity, I repeated the test with a foaming cleanser I already had at home.
My skin felt dry immediately... and there was still black soot left behind.

Goes to show that sometimes foam cleansers can do more damage then good 🤔

Tonic & Thyme has reached another milestone and we couldn't have done it without YOU 💜

What started at my kitchen bench — all of a sudden branched into endless hours with study, researching ingredients, making batches, testing textures, redesigning labels about 47 bloody times 😂 — has slowly grown into something really special (and slightly more time consuming than i originally thought 🫣 )

Tonic & Thyme was created after caring for Mum through cancer and seeing firsthand just how much skin can change during treatment and illness.

Dryness. Sensitivity. Swelling. Products suddenly stinging. Skin that looked and felt completely different from one week to the next.

And when so much of your independence and normality is already changing, even the little things that help you feel clean, comfortable and more like yourself matter.

That became the heart behind Green Gardens 🌿📗

📊 A little note about stock:
For now, products are available in small batches and limited quantities.

As orders increase, I'll gradually increase my batch sizes too. At this stage I'm still producing smaller batches so I can keep a close eye on every formula, every fill and every product that leaves Tonic & Thyme.

So if something sells out — don't panic! It doesn't necessarily mean it's gone. It probably just means I need to get my ass back to the formulation bench ☕️🥼📋

Things I wish I’d known sooner when Mum’s mobility started changing.

None of it makes things easy, but small supports around the home can protect energy, comfort and independence before everything becomes an urgent scramble.
