🔥 Kia ora rā koutou! It’s been another rich week ✨

As kaimahi, we relish in the daily wows - gems that deepen the gratitude & burst forth that want to karanga out to all to come join 🎆

How blessed to enjoy a nanny-led hikoi marae this week, hearing snippets of history from one of our wise Pou 🌿 and then basking in a home-away-from-home whare, where service is tikanga guided & te ao Māori is normalised as a nourisher of wellbeing 👌🏼

Shy wāhine & māmā are connecting naturally through same-same life sharings - because “if you know, you know!” 💜 and likewise, pēpi of all ages notice each other & embark on their own connections & manaaki for one another! 😍 aroha mai, aroha atu 🫶🏼

We’ve had cooking tips shared to take home 🍜🥥 taniko weaving & Matariki arts kicked off 🪡🪢✨ and Ama loves from our volunteer aunties 💞 And.. Papia James treated us to our first fire 🔥 as we finished the week with a kaimahi training day.. our cups were filled further ☕️ reaffirming why we do what we do here at Mamia 🏡

So, Naumai - we’d love to welcome you in 💜

Mauri ora e te whānau 💛

Our doors are open tomorrow morning to welcome back our friends from Westpac to share kōrero and build up that confidence around money - looking at banking myths, credit checks & gathering those tips to help with saving 🍀

Come in 15 minutes earlier to settle in & have a cuppa.

Bring a friend - kaua e whakamā - we'd love to see you and meet new faces 🥰

💛🧡 Connection is a need for anyone 🫶🏼

Sometimes new spaces bring anxious feelings, and the unknowns can have us feel best tucked up at home, in bed or cosied up in our nightgown 🛌🧥We understand and hear it often ✨

And we assure you that we have a big, warm whare 🏡 with wise aunties and nannies who will ease your welcome and gently share our kaupapa with you, because connection gets easier over time 👥💜

Your wellbeing can be simple – it starts with an ‘āe!’ – a ‘yes please!’ 🌼

Let us support your pregnancy experience, so your birth and transition into mothering can continue with us beside you – familiar faces and wraparound 💞 Even if you are a māmā already, you can ask your questions or seek guidance - take this time to nurture the seeds for wellbeing in you and your pēpi 🌱 Poipoia te kākano kia puāwai! 🦋

This week we’ve had new birth stories shared, full wahakura of napping pēpi, and māhanga/twins both in the puku AND on the mat 💕 Some sleep-deprived māmā surrendered to moe catch-ups, while quick showers enlivened and refreshed others 🚿🧼 🧴 and we received a bucket load of ‘making a healthy home’ tips to end our week 🪣🌡️🧺

💗 Tamariki are thriving; exploring, learning and imitating our manaaki – and tamanuiterā is still giving us snippets of warmth outside – how much better can it get?

So, naumai haramai, if you haven’t visited us, you must; if you have, we look forward to seeing you again soon!

𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗮: We will welcome back Michelle from Westpac on Thursday to talk Finance with us: clearing up some money myths, talk about credit checks and talk through tips to help us save or just get ahead. Join us early, get your cuppa in before we start at 10:30am.

𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗲: PUBLIC HOLIDAY - Whare closed
𝗧𝘂̄𝗿𝗲𝗶: Tāonga Tuku Iho 10:30am
𝗪𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶: Free flow & connection 10:30am

Tomorrow at Taonga Tuku Iho, we’ll be spending some time exploring te taiao through kōrero, play, whakaaro and hands-on learning together.

From stories and movement to discovery and creativity, we’ll be loosely touching on themes inspired by our taiao and the many ways our tūpuna connected with the world around them. 🌿

A gentle space for our tamariki and whānau to learn, connect and enjoy being together.

Nau mai, haere mai e te whānau 🤎

🍂𝗠𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗶 𝗼𝗿𝗮 𝗲 𝘁𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗮̄𝗻𝗮𝘂,

We’ve had a full, fun and fabulous week both in and out of the whare, starting our day's with cosy cuppa's and kōrero🏠☕️ and heading out to kaupapa or onto the deck to soak up the warm sun once morning mists cleared🌫️☀️

James and Moana were out and about sharing the Mamia kaupapa at the Hauora Māori Symposium at EIT School of Nursing and the Rangatahi Hauora Expo at Camberley Community Centre, and enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with other leaders and pioneers in hauora Māori, and meet whānau, ākonga, and local hauora services. Ka mau te wehi 🫶🏽

And here in our kāinga🏡, new and returning hapū wāhine, māmā and pēpi joined us for connection, manaaki, rest, reo, ako, Tamariki Ora checks, and our second Waiū child health kōrero 'Development from birth to 2 years' with Dr Eve✨

If you’ve just found our page or have been following for a while, and are needing support, a listening ear, guidance with pēpi, or simply a safe space to breathe — naumai! Our Mamia kāinga and kaimahi are here to welcome you in 💕

𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗮: We have the Heathy Homes team back this Thursday to share information and useful ways to keep your home warmer, healthier and safer for your little ones through winter. They will also talk about Healthy Homes assessments and support - set yourself a reminder and come along for a 10:30am start.
