He rongoā te reo rangatira, I stepped into my reo journey in 2023, i now stand in my third year!
It has been a healing journey for myself and has led me through many shifts, growths and environments where I’ve been tested more ways than I can count.
Kōmiri is one of the most powerful tools for healing, shifting mamae and releasing it through kōrero, it’s something that takes wisdom, skill and flexibility. It’s a balancing act between being gentle and being firm.
So it makes sense that learning te reo Māori can be a way to heal. To heal the trauma of our tūpuna whom got beaten for speaking Māori or to return it to our family by breaking that cycle.
I have close friends that have experienced this mamae first hand, i see them showing up every class fighting for their reo for themselves and their tamariki.
I always aspired to have my reo first before stepping into Rongoā, but my tūpuna and my good friend had over plans for me.
So if you have thought about learning te reo Māori, this is your sign to go and sign up…. You won’t regret it but you will regret never doing it. Go get your healing, go get your language
