Have you ever wonder why old-fashioned soap felt different to the stuff on shelves now? It's the glycerin.

Soap made the slow, traditional way naturally produces glycerin, but most big brands strip it out and sell it separately. We leave it in every bar, which is what makes ours feel nourishing instead of drying.

Then there's the tallow. Grass-fed beef tallow's fat profile is close to our own skin, so it works with your skin instead of against it. We rendered it by hand here in Marlborough, NZ.

I started making this in my own kitchen because I loved handmade soap and wanted something gentle for my own skin and my kids' skin (plus I just love making things!)

Each bar is a generous 100g (approx).
Pro tip: let it drain properly between uses and it'll last you so much longer — we sell soap racks if you need one.

Our Kawakawa and Manuka Salve is amazingly soothing on irritated skin. It's also wonderful for insect bites, rashes and minor scrapes. A good one to have in the first aid kit!
