A kawakawa havest isn't as simple as just taking from the plant. There is a time to harvest via Maramataka with its moon phases and Tikanga to be mindful of, such as a Karakia, waiting for a tohu, a sign before entering the ngahere (pausing for the manu to call before we enter) only harvesting the Grandparent leaves (leaving the Pepi and Parent on the plant to regenerate and flourish) Only taking what is needed and treading gently as we ģo.🌿
