🌱 A little bit of Crunchy on the plate at the Southland Export Awards!

What a great night celebrating Southland businesses, exporters and the incredible products that come from our part of New Zealand.

And there was something pretty special for us — seeing Crunchy greens featured on the evening’s dishes. 💚

From growing these greens here in Invercargill to seeing them used by chefs at an event celebrating Southland’s success is a pretty cool reminder of how far locally grown products can travel.

We’re proud to grow in Southland, proud to supply businesses across New Zealand, and even prouder to see our greens adding that final fresh touch to a beautiful plate.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists and winners — a fantastic celebration of what Southland businesses are achieving. 👏

From broccoli and radish microgreens through to our salad combinations and sprouts, we’ve built the range so there’s something for everyday meals — not just restaurant garnishes.

If you’ve walked past our Crunchy packs in the produce department and wondered what microgreens actually are — they’re young, tender greens harvested at an early stage of growth.

And they’re incredibly easy to use.

Add them to:

What started as a small idea has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of.

Every week at Crunchy, we grow and harvest fresh microgreens and sprouts right here in Southland — supplying supermarkets, foodservice customers, cafés, restaurants and independent retailers across New Zealand.

Our focus has stayed simple:

Growing fresh food will always be at the heart of what we do.

But we’ve also been experimenting.

Testing.

Learning.

And working with some pretty clever people to see what else we can create from what we grow.

Eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes… and a generous handful of fresh Crunchy microgreens on top.

Sometimes the simplest meals are the best.

One of the things we love about microgreens is that you don’t really need to do anything with them — open the pack, grab a handful and add them straight to the plate.
