"If you want to come along to solve the world's problems over morning tea and also get stuck into some gardening, then tomorrow is our day! Volunteer day starting from 9am in the Teaching Gardens. We share our thoughts and knowledge, have lots of fun and always learn something new. Tomorrow we will build a compost pile and learn how to sow seeds. Everybody is welcome"

Thanks heaps -
Katharina

Well that’s a wrap 🎉

A huge thank you to all our rangatahi and whānau who joined us on Wednesday afternoon at the Whangaroa Memorial Hall and made our Youth Week "Te Mana o Kupu" event so special. It was an amazing experience spending time connecting through all the laughter, fun and activities.

Huge thanks to everyone who supported the kaupapa — our organisering team, kitchen crew, and all those working behind the scenes. Special thanks to our volunteers Pari, Nuka and Marama for all your support.

To the providers and organisations who helped create a safe and welcoming space for our rangatahi to simply be themselves — the teams at WotMatters, Hāpai Te Hauora, Ngāti Kahu, Ngāti Hine, Ngāti Rehia, St John,s and the Electoral Commission — thank you all for your much appreciated support.

Lastly, an enormous thank you to our sponsors Ara Taiohi, Bald Angels and The Rapid Response Team.

The Kaeo Youth Week 2026 banner looked absolutely amazing, the finished art work is currently on display at Omaunu House if you wish to view.

Congratulations also to all our spot prize winners and those of the TikTok Dance Challenge (blown away with how much support and aroha you gave each other) and the “Are You Smarter Than a 10 Year Old?” Quiz👏

Till next year - Mauri ora

⏳ One day to go – a couple of last minute updates!

💃🕺 How are those TikTok moves going?

You can register for the Dance Challenge at the door when you arrive — just have your track ready so organisers can plug you straight into the sounds when it is your turn. 🎶🔥 Show us what you’ve got!

📣 If you are a first-time voter or haven’t yet enrolled to vote, the Electoral Commission will also be at the Youth Week event Te Mana o Kupu at the Whangaroa Memorial Hall on Wednesday 20th May from 3.30pm – 6.00pm!
Come along for a kōrero — they can help you enrol, check your details, and answer any questions you have about enrolling, updating your information, or the 2026 General Election. 🗳️✨
