Kia Ora all!! Its been a long time between posts(not a strong point)!
I have been on a bit of a different mission the past couple of years Putting my energy into the family/myself and an opportunity to work in the bush on a local pest control project, and Hinupai has been on the back burner, still on my heart though,
I want to say a huge thank you to all who’ve supported me, giving advice/slap on the wrist/wise words or just aroha, thanku! but only i could do the walk.. still walking… so much love to you all!
the boost for this post was im ready for the next chapter with Hinupai- it truly has been the Good oil in so many ways, most of all a reconnection, With the whole of my being/endeavours, dreams, passions, beliefs/, and connections to this land and wairua, its a journey right? and continues!!
Here are some pics of No1 Son Jack in our favourite Kawakawa grove, That through some intensive trapping, also fencing and refencing(sill not that great) to keep the cows from mowing this precious taonga back to the ground, and the possums and rats ensuring no/little bird life to live here in peace and also transfer and scatter seeds to other parts of the 4500 Hectares Native Forest around us, ( i still havnt seen a kawakawa grove like this in the 110 km tracks weve walked setting up trap lines,) it just blows me away I struggle to wander through this trap line trying not to stand on a seedling! just beautiful!!!! roughly 60 possums/ 40 rats/5 cats/3 hedgehogs 2stoats in just over a year with 9 traps and 2 rat bait stations, the difference is huge literally and wasnt a big task, even one trap would of made a difference. keep on keeping on everyone, youll hear the difference please take some time and let everyone know your experience/ story with Hinupai/ either here or the website www.hinupai.com or text or call if you want to chat oh 274840883, Will be connecting you all with some other small business big hearted people as soon as i learn to ( or someone could offer social media assistane)?? Thats me whanau excited for the next part of this Journey, Thanks so much again
kind regards Mandy, Leeroy n jack
