👂 EAR CONDITIONS & DISEASES — RECOGNIZE & PROTECT YOUR HEARING 🛡️
Different ear issues show distinct changes inside or on the outer ear — knowing what’s normal vs abnormal helps prevent permanent damage:
✅ 1. Healthy Ear — clear open canal, smooth intact eardrum, no redness or buildup
🔹 2. Excess Earwax — soft/thick buildup; may muffle sound; usually easy to remove safely
🔹 3. Swimmer’s Ear — red, swollen outer canal; painful, itchy, water‑trapped infection
🔹 4. Middle Ear Infection — fluid/pus collecting behind eardrum; pressure, pain, fever risk
🔹 5. Earwax Impaction — hard, deep, stuck blockage; full hearing blockage, dizziness possible
🔹 6. Eardrum Perforation — visible tear/hole; leak fluid/blood, temporary hearing drop
🔹 7. Ear Polyp — soft, fleshy, non‑cancerous growth; needs exam to rule out infection
🔹 8. Cholesteatoma — abnormal skin cyst/growth; eats bone, needs surgical care
🔹 9. Tinnitus‑Related Change — visible inner damage + constant ringing/buzzing sound
🔹 10. Barotrauma — bulged/sucked‑in drum; pressure injury from flight/dive/congestion
🔹 11. Otosclerosis — stiffened bone near drum; slow, progressive hearing loss
🔹 12. Sebaceous Cyst — small smooth lump on outer ear; blocked oil gland, usually harmless
💡 SAFE CARE: Never insert cotton swabs/hard objects deep inside — push wax deeper or tear drum.
🚩 KEY: Pain, discharge, sudden hearing drop, or growing lump — see ENT specialist early.
⚠️ DISCLAIMER: Educational reference only — not medical diagnosis; inner‑ear issues need professional exam.
