The Power of the (Slow) Reset - Soul ‘Food’
What Fills Your Cup?
A slow reset isn’t just about training, food, or habits.
It’s also about making space for the things that genuinely restore you, the activities that regulate your nervous system, reconnect you to joy, and remind you who you are outside of “doing”.
What fills your cup will look different from anyone else’s and that’s the point.
For me, it’s:
- Quality time with friends and family
- Being outdoors and moving my body in ways that feel like play - exploring new trails (“oh, where does this path go?”), hiking, paddle-boarding, surfing or mountain biking
- Live music whenever I can, and the annual pilgrimage to Auckland for the London Hard House Reunion - reconnecting with old friends and losing myself on the dance floor with them for a few hours (once a raver, always a raver… 😉 )
If I can combine any of those with the people I love? Even better!
These aren’t “extras” or rewards for being productive. They’re part of how I stay grounded, regulated, and human, especially in busy or heavy seasons.
A slow reset asks a different question:
Not “What should I be doing?”
But “What actually helps me feel more like myself?”
✨ Joy counts. Rest counts. Connection counts.
What’s one small thing you could do this week that would fill your cup?
💬 I’d love to hear - share in the comments.
