The work will still be there on Monday. The emails, the jobs on the list, the things that feel urgent.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘀𝗼 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁.

One thing I've learned over the years is that switching off isn't a reward for working hard. It's part of performing well. Take some time this weekend to put the phone down, be present, and enjoy the people (and dogs!) around you.

The inbox can wait.

Have a great weekend,

The word most high achievers forget? Recovery.

We celebrate hard work, discipline, and hustle. But recovery is what allows all three to continue.

If you're feeling flat, unmotivated, or running on fumes, the answer might not be to push harder; it might be to recover better. To start scheduling regular rest times 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 your calendar is full.

Rest isn't a reward, it's part of the process.

It's never just been about working out our bodies.

It's about mindset, habits, stress, relationships, confidence, and how we show up in our everyday lives.

Messages like this remind me why I love what I do.

It never ceases to amaze me how many high performers are doing very little for their health, yet won't start unless the plan is detailed, elaborate, and covers every possible scenario. Meanwhile, the basics are sitting right in front of them.

A walk.
A decent lunch.
An earlier night.
More water.
A bit more movement.

You don't need the perfect plan this week - you just need to start doing the simple things consistently.

I'm keen to hear the one simple thing you're committing to this week - drop it in the comments 👇

As the week wraps up, here's a simple question: how many days did you actually stop for lunch this week? And how did you feel at 3 or 4 o'clock on the days you did, compared to the days you didn't?

Too many high achievers wear skipping lunch as a badge of honour. But running on caffeine and momentum isn't a sustainable strategy.

A proper lunch break isn't time lost. It's an investment in your energy, focus, and productivity for the second half of the day.

Open your calendar now and block out your lunch break for tomorrow, and if you're really onto it, next week's lunches too - and let me know how you feel!

Success isn't just what you build, it's who you get to share it with. One of the greatest rewards of working hard is being able to show up for the people who matter most.

The weekend sports (and weekday practices). The family adventures. The everyday moments in between.

Be where your feet are. You've worked hard for these moments.

"I'll start Monday" is a comforting thought, until it's Sunday night and Monday is tomorrow morning... We've all been there. But I'm here to say:

You already know what's good for you. Stop negotiating with yourself. You know what you need to win the week:

The workouts, earlier nights, healthier choices, having the difficult conversations...

As always, the challenge isn't knowing what to do; it's doing it without spending all week negotiating with yourself first (and then "starting next Monday.")

Make the decision. Take the action. Move forward.

A tough truth for high achievers: you're not 25 anymore. You can't out-caffeine poor sleep or outwork chronic stress. The goal isn't to lower your ambition; it's to build a level of health that can support it.

The real flex isn't grinding harder; it's having the energy to perform at a high level, year after year. And that's where I come in - realistic, whole-life performance coaching that gets you to (and keeps you at) your A-game. Let's chat!

Great to attend the West Auckland Chamber of Commerce networking event and have the opportunity to introduce myself to members of our local business community. One of the highlights was chatting with Simon Bridges, who asked me for my thoughts on helping teenagers manage their phone use.

My answer?

Before we focus on the phones in our teenagers' hands, we need to take a closer look at the phones in ours.

As adults, we are the most powerful influencers in our children's lives. They notice when we scroll through dinner, check notifications during conversations, or reach for our phones the moment there's a quiet moment.

The reality is that healthy digital habits start with us.

If we want our young people to have a balanced relationship with technology, we need to model what that looks like.

A great reminder for all of us that leadership starts at home.
