🫶 Exercise of the month,
not just beneficial for the Glutes, Hamstrings and stability training….but also a good way to check/train ones ‘nervous system’

🚨🧠🫨2 1/2yrs ago i couldn’t do this after my accident, let alone balance on 1leg for 10secs…..thats bad for anyone let alone a surfer, my brain wasnt happy and because of that my nervous system was shot and needed some serious training and tlc

🧘‍♀️ Our Nervous Systems should be prioritised more 🫨😵‍💫🤯…this
doesn’t mean sitting in a corner doing breathe work and ‘woo-woo
stuff’ as many may think, there is so much more and less we can do to help our systems.

The girls were ooooon last week.

Mum/Daughter assessment…both love their footy but have never had a warm-up or stretch routine to prevent injuries.

“wow that was eye-opening”

ps. with a couple
of extra little ppl joining in the fun

🚨Have you got a very Sporty 10+ year old?

Eager to do some strength training….well they certainly don’t need a gym membership for those growing/developing bodies, but a little gentle stability and flexibility work creates great habits for active bodies and reduces risk of injury.

Then that roller can be used to rollout legs…win win 🙌.

All you parents can give it a go too😆

ps. If too hard for your current hip range, place the roller a little lower…hips must stay parallel throughout, slow and controlled movement, keeping foot, knee alignment on stable leg.

2-3x week on none-consecutive days (can roll and stretch alt days😉)
🏋️10x Each leg of Open/close gate alteranting +
🏋️8-10x Sngl RDL (hip
hinge only)

When people ask if i miss working from a Commercial Gym….yeah in some ways i miss the Banter with Fellow PTs, but thats it !
+ get to pick the music here, Puppy cuddles and can get jobs house jobs done between sessions 👌

And saving on Petrol, well we all
know how important that is in present times 🙄

Need a challenge….Core strong and Shoulder Stability good, then this is for you.

‘Stir the pot🍯 plank’
1. Shoulders over elbows
2. Activate core and protract shoulders (open shoulder blades), activate quads for added stability
3. Whilst maintain hip and shoulder alignment, gently rotate clockwise for 30secs as shown, then anticlockwise for 30secs (or to your ability).

❌NOTE: If you feel the shoulder joints, or lower back this is not for you, then start with:
1. Floor kneeling plank
2. Floor On toes plank
3. SB static plank

Split Squat v Lunge

🦵🏿Static v Dynamic

🦵🏿Hypertrophy v Functional (balance)

🦵🏿Technique Focus & load safer to maintain on a split-squat, generally.

Personally love both options & to perform with 1xDB as pictured, but it depends on what your current goals are and your technique ability.

Shout out to David (Classical Acupunture) he has had one of the fastest & best recoveries back from an ACL🦿Reconstruction just over 6months ago, taking the advice of Raw Physio and myself as his Trainer….

However he had a bit of a woopsies on his bike the other day (he will say ‘riding like a teenager😜’), whilst he tweaked the knee, the Reconstruction is in tact and not comprimised.

We had a week off to let any inflammation settle….. now back on the strength Train and he will be back doing agility work again soon enough.

Set backs, are just that…but how we bounce back is what makes all the difference, mindset and support are the key 🌟

Form on point & how about that nervous system with the balance on this one 👌
