A Community Healthcare Facility in the Wairarapa You do not to enrol with our Centre, but we will ask you to complete a short registration form.

First Health and Wellness Centre is here to support the health needs of the Wairarapa Community and out of region visitors through the Manaaki ki Wairarapa Trust. We are open from 10am - 5pm Mon, Weds & Fri and 12pm - 7pm Tues & Thurs

Call ahead to make an appointment 06 777 9070 or drop in and you will be seen as soon as possible. You will be seen by a registered Nurse

UPDATE for our loyal Supporters
Thank you for your continued support, particularly over the last 2 weeks.

Because we do not receive any funding (even though we have met the criteria for the past 2 years), we have no extra money to cover sickness etc. We have had to close on 3 occasions!!!
This of course means no income earned so wages, rent and other Creditors cannot be paid.

Health NZ are unfortunately out of touch with the reality of Primary Health Care in 2026, and their latest reasons for rejection are, among others

• There are enough Practitioners, Doctor or Nurse for the number of people looking for care
• There are Medical Centres taking new people
• There has been no indication that people are unhappy with the Service provided by Primary Health Care in the Wairarapa.
Ironically no one asks me for our weekly stats.

We need you to voice your opinion on the State of Primary Health Care in the Wairarapa.
You don’t need to use identifications just describe your experience eg. had to wait 6 weeks for next appointment for an acute injury!

Due to severe staff sickness there is NO NURSE PRACTITIONER or NURSE AVAILABLE TODAY 24th AUGUST 2026.
WE WILL BE CHECKING OUR MESSAGES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND WILL CLOSED AT 1 PM TODAY.
25th August face to face consults with Nurse and if available appointments with the GP online only.
