What we’re loving most about Cosmelan isn’t actually the peel itself. It’s the shift in the science behind it.

Most pigment treatments focus on removing pigment you can already see.

But modern science is becoming more interested in why the melanocyte keeps producing pigment in the first place.

That’s where Melaphenone® comes in.

A patented molecule within the newer Cosmelan® and Dermamelan® systems designed to target tyrosinase one of the key enzymes involved in melanin production.

Pigment isn’t always just sun damage.

Nothing goes on the ISLA menu unless I’ve fully immersed myself in it first.

Nothing happens until we understand: the science, the skins response, the healing phase, the downtime, the maintenance and how the skin behaves long after the treatment is finished.

Mesoestetic recently evolved the Cosmelan formula + protocol and now it aligns far more with the way we treat skin at ISLA.

Less aggressive “quick fix.”
More long-term pigment management.

We’re not interested in needling unhealthy skin. Which means we have a few SkinPen non negotiables.

Not every skin is ready for aggressive correction just because it wants collagen.

If the barrier is impaired, inflammation is high, healing is sluggish or SPF and homecare aren’t consistent, we would rather spend time preparing the skin first than push straight into treatment.

SkinPen works by creating controlled injury, triggering a wound healing response that stimulates collagen production. But the quality of the result is heavily influenced by how the skin heals afterwards.

It’s also why two people can have the exact same treatment and experience very different outcomes.

Serena and I see so many skins that don’t actually need “more”.

They need recovery.

More stimulation isn’t always the answer. Especially when the skin is already inflamed, reactive or struggling to heal properly.

Before we think about advanced correction, we’re always looking at:
* Barrier function
* Inflammation
* How the skin is healing
* What the skin can actually tolerate

Advanced treatments like don’t just rely on the treatment itself. They rely on the skin’s ability to respond well afterwards, creating lasting results.

They rely on the skin being healthy enough to respond well and support the goals we’re achieving together.
