❄️ Winter is coming — is your body ready?
As a naturopath, the question I hear most in May is "what can I take? I keep getting sick."
My honest answer? The best time to ask that question was two months ago. The second best time is right now. 🌿
Here's what I'm focusing on with clients this season:
Vitamin D — our NZ winters quietly drain it. Low levels = lowered immunity. Get your levels tested and top them up before you feel run down.
Zinc — essential for your immune cells to actually function. Find it in red meat, pumpkin seeds, oysters and legumes. Or get tested in clinic and we can supplement to top up if needed.
Your gut — 70% of your immune system lives here. Feed it diversity. Fermented foods (yoghurt, kefir, sauerkraut) and 30+ different plant foods a week make a real difference, and complement with a practitioner only immune supporting probiotic.
The naturopathic approach isn't about waiting until you're sick and reaching for a remedy. It's about building the foundation so your body can do what it was designed to do. 💚
