Rongoā Māori is an expression of a very different way of seeing the world. Te Āo Māori doesn’t see humans as masters of the universe entitled to whatever the planet is able to provide. Rather this worldview is based on a sense of belonging, of connection. For Māori, wellness depends not on how much they possess, but on the strength of the network of connections that gives them the sense of identity that is essential for their well-being.

That is very different to a world which is too often measured by the level of wealth one is able to accrue. The separation of Māori from their whenua did more than deprive them of economic opportunities; it separated them from the very source of who they were and where they belonged.

Our community koha clinic is back.

We appreciate that it has been a long pause with our community koha clinics as Whetumarama and myself welcomed the birth of our twins on the 30th January this year. As you can imagine this has meant a whole new shuffle of how our household now runs and then how to align our business along side of this.

We were hoping to back into our community clinics before now however it just hasn't aligned. With the excitement of the Maorilands Film Festival this week we thought it was the perfect time to get our ropu of kairomi back on the tables and to kick start us off we will be providing 30 minute koha sessions both this Friday 27th and Saturday 28th from 10:30am - 4:30pm.

We will be located upstairs in the Arcade opposite the Maoriland Hub. Keep an eye out for our flag outside and posters to lead you to our team.

Due to this being such a big event we will be taking bookings on the day to ensure our kairomi get some breaks.

We are super excited to support this event but more importantly to be back offering these clinic spaces in our community.

Feel free to contact us if you have any questions. We appreciate your patience in our absence and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Teenaki koutou katoa,

If you feel the pull to learn this ancient Maaori healing, take the leap.... you won't regret it, your wairua will thank you for it, trust me....

It changed my life!

Mauri Ora,
Whetumarama

Mōrena koutou katoa 🤍

Have you been quietly sitting on the edge of this post…feeling that deep pull?
Wondering if this Wānanga is for you and whether you should just jump?
If you’re hearing the call, Trust me! It's for you.
And this opportunity may not pass through the Wairarapa again for some time.

Our Foundational Romiromi Wānanga is going ahead here in the Wairarapa..and I’m grateful this invitation remains open. We’re doing it whānau! 🤍

🗓 10–11 January
⏰ 9am–5pm
📍 Te Wakaiti Iti, Featherston
🛏 Marae-style accommodation available

This Wānanga is for those who feel drawn to Mirimiri, Romiromi -Traditional Māori Healing.
For the healers.
The bodyworkers.
The kai mahi in our communities.
And for those who feel this work stirring in their bones..even if you don’t yet have the words for it.

You may come for yourself.
You may come for your whānau.
You may want to deepen your bodywork practice, or strengthen your understanding of Te Whare Wānanga.
You may come because something ancient is remembering itself through you.

My heart and intention is to uplift Wairarapa whānau and grow our kai mirimiri practitioners within this rohe-
BUT I also warmly welcome whānau from outside this rohe.
Whānau- ,if this kōrero speaks to you or you know of others that this would resonate with..I would deeply appreciate you sharing it within your own circles—especially with whānau in Wairarapa, Palmerston North, Upper Hutt, Wellington, and Porirua 🤍

Payment plans can be arranged 💫

Let’s remove the barriers.
Trust the call.
You truly have nothing to lose.

LAST COMMUNITY CLINIC 2025

Mauri ora e hoa mā

This week is our last clinic for 2025. Our rōpū will be working out of the back of Maorilands. Entrance 11 Raukawa Street, 4pm - 7pm.

We want to acknowledge the support of our local whānau and community who come with open manawa to recieve. We love providing this clinic and get so much joy in sharing this space with you all.

As some of you are aware Whetumarama and I are expecting the arrival of our twins next month so we may not be restarting clinic until February 2026. So if you are wanting to get some Romiromi and Mirimiri to see you through the festive season now is the time.

A huge mihi to our hosts Hā Pai Wellness who have been our base for these clinics for the past 2 years and also to Maorilands who have graciously offered us their space as our kauapapa ora grows.

Come and see the full team āpōpō and let's enjoy this time together before we wrap up 2025.
