Holiday Hunt Mission for Our Tamariki

We have secretly hidden 3 Spark Rugby Balls around Papaioea for tamariki to find.

Each rugby ball found is worth a $50 Prezzy Card.

Your Mission

Find a rugby ball, take a photo of yourself with the ball near where you found it, and send the photo to us.

Get your whānau involved and work together to track them down.

Please note that we would like to share your photo on our social media channels.

Rules

There is only one rule: if you find a rugby ball, use your Prezzy Card on something fun during the school holidays.

This morning i whakawātea tatou i Te Whare Pūkai!

Te Whare Pūkai has provided kai & amenities to whānau since old covid times.
And while covid is long gone the needs of our hapori have not.
Ka pōuri tātou to shut’s it’s doors but we will carry the kaupapa of Te Whare Pūkai with us knowing that when one door closes another opens.

Rau mihi ki ngā ringa hāpai o tēnei Kaupapa.
From packing boxes in the arena, to delivering out to orgs, to being the front faces that our hapori
see we thank you all.

To whānau that are still in need

Te Pātaka Kai in the 4412 is still open Mondays and Fridays from 1:00pm to 2:00pm!

Just Zilch at 248 featherston street, Palmerston north is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday | 1:00pm to 2:30pm then 4:30pm to 6:00pm and
Wednesday 1:00pm to 2:00pm (Just for Kaumatua) and 4:30pm to 6:00pm for everyone.

Palmerston North Foodbank at 663 main street, Palmerston north is open Tuesday and Friday from 12:30pm to 2:30pm.

Salvation Army Foodbank at 431 church street, Palmerston north is open is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00am to 12:00pm.

The school holidays are here whānau and no doubt the Tamariki are enjoying the freedom from kura while the mātua are scrambling trying to figure out how the teachers manage the hordes.
Well whānau we’re here to help give yah some ideas or some sources to look at to see what’s happening in your rohe.

🥇 is the library in any rohe! Libraries are a hub for holiday activities!
🥈 is the pools! It’s honestly trying to warm up out there 🙄 and if your not lucky enough to live next to a awa or beach this is the next best thing!

If you have a warehouse stationary in your tāone then check them out for some free workshops for Tamariki!

If your in hanging in te Horowhenua on the 30th you might wanna go down to Te Awahou Nieuwe stroom, Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō or to te Shannon library and build and obstacle course for plants to follow light!

🎙️🎙️Waiata Tūrei! Leah Te Whata & Wāhine Remurere!

It’s still māori music month whānau so we wanted to celebrate a wahine mīharo a wahine māia and her beautiful new track.

Wāhine Remurere!

We are lucky enough to have Leah Te Whata older sister as a kaimahi in our tari and talking to Leah sister ka rongo te admiration mō tōna tēina.

Just chatting to Felicity (big sister) you could hear how proud she is of the journey her sister has taken and the place that it may lead too. She talked of a wāhine who embraces serendipity, but whose greatest rewards come when she intentional in what she seeks from the world.

After winning the emerging artist award at the Māori Music Awards in 2016! Yes a decade ago! Leah Te Whata has gifted our ears a waiata that’s like a steady current beneath still waters, the track is gentle yet strong.
