When we made the decision to live tiny, we had to decided what to do with all of our 'stuff'!

Trust me, this was a slow process. We were lucky to have 12 months to slowly decided on what was important. I sorted and downsized the boys room 3 times.
We would put items they felt were important on the bookcase but if they hadn't played with it or use it within 3 months, they had to decided if they REALLY needed it.

To live tiny was one of the most 'freeing' things we have ever done. We realised how much we don't need.

One of the most amazing advantages of living in a bus, is that water awareness is something we are already teaching our children. We not only have to be aware of how much water we consume, but how we source our water to fill our tanks, and then how we dispose of our water once we have used it. We need to ensure that we dont use harsh chemicals so that we can safely empty our tanks.
When we lived in a 'normal' house we thought about water in the sense of turning off the tap when we brush our teeth etc, but now we truly only have a limited amount of water 'on board' and need to think ahead of when we can fill the tanks again so how long we may need to stretch our water out.

This year, the focus of the UN observance is on accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. The global campaign, called Be the change, encourages people to take action in their own lives to change the way they use, consume and manage water.
